This the review of Mystery Box Case 023 – SEARCH FOR THE HIDDEN TREASURE.

The mystery comes in an envelope. The only things written on it are the Sleuth Kings P.O. box address and the case that you will be working on.

The epilogue is included and separated in another envelope.

To begin with your adventure, you need to login to their website and send Sullivan an email.

The files are neatly arranged in a white folder, with Sleuth Kings branding in front. All the files are organized inside the folder, they are even separated by paper clips.

Everything in my box!

The case objective is written in a card, and we will be working to find the hidden treasure.

It also lists the contents of the case file: investigation instructions, investigation report, clues, and more.

The investigation instruction sheet names the client, the case you will be working on, and the whole situation.

I suggest you read them thoroughly to fully understand the case and also to know where to start the whole investigation. Here’s a copy of Young Detective’s Club’s Asuna Yukimura.

For this case, we just need to find out the location of the hidden treasure!

There are also clue analysis, where each clue item’s use is being hinted or explained.

There’s also an included letter from Novelda Bright, who first had the treasure map. It also hinted that we’ll need four things that will lead us to the treasure.

We also got a snuck-out letter from Celest St. Claire, telling us that we can also use her help.

After looking at all the materials, I sent Sullivan a letter to finally start the case.

The first clue we got is a puzzle book page, with an accompanying note. The puzzle is Pirate Paul’s Word Find and I think the words that we’re going to find in this puzzle will be of big help in looking for the hidden treasures!

The flip side of the puzzle page has another mystery that we need to solve, and there are three Ogre Riddles! However, the answer key to the riddles is also on the same page, just turn it upside down!

Our second clue is Mrs. Bright’s art notes. It looks like a Sudoku puzzle! It also has some notes about quilting!

The next clue is a Classical Discovery schedule. In front are I think some of the program guests.

The flip side presented the complete and detailed schedule of the program.

The last clue is a Performance Calendar that shows the dates of the performances… I’m seeing 4 days for the Pirates! performance which is on the 25th until the 28th!

There’s also Mrs. Bright’s Obituary, and it’s really a heartwarming message from her.

The back shows some classified ads from the same paper where the obituary was published.

I also got this unique treasure map which has a very colorful and abstract design in front.

The map is not what I expect it to actually look like. It’s full of squares that look like different locations, or buildings to be exact. Some have the skull and crossbones symbol on them, and there are random letters written all over!

There’s also the Burnside Theater Season Pass.

The flip side also lists the reserved performances and the exact day, date, and time of the performances.

I know we’re up for a treasure hunting adventure because I also got this eye patch. We all know that the pirates are the ones who love this kind of adventure!

After solving the case, we can now open the Epilogue envelope! Inside, we found a note from Mrs. Bright congratulating us for finding her treasure. Along with the note is a small chest with the lucky penny inside! The other treasure is with Asuna and Sullivan, as they split the treasures in 3, Asuna getting the four-leaf clover, and Sullivan got the rabbit’s foot.

A good mystery will take some time to be solved but definitely, there are lots of fun and learnings along the way! Sleuth Kings is definitely one of the best mystery escape room-like boxes around. It’s fun to do a treasure hunt, but this time, just not with a map, but with a bunch of clues as well! The whole family got really involved in this mystery and it’s nice that we all worked together to finish the task! It’s also nice to know that Sullivan and Celeste are there to help us with the clues in case we found ourselves stuck. We’re looking forward to our next adventure with this box!
