California Found is an awesome monthly subscription box that delivers the best of The Golden State, directly to your mailbox! Each box is $49, but has a value of $90+! Shipping is available worldwide. What will you find in your box?

California Found is a discovery box of beautifully crafted California artisan products delivered right to your door. Every month, you’ll receive a collection of thoughtful, local, small-batch items that may include gourmet, spa & beauty, home goods, jewelry, stationery and more. The contents change monthly, and are delivered boxed and ready for giving.

I love opening this box, it always looks so well put together! My items were wrapped in tissue paper that was sealed with a sticker and the items were cushioned in shredded paper.

Some of the items had additional packaging to keep them safe during transit.

I found a set of cards – one with an introduction to the current box, and one for each of the vendors featured in this month’s box. The bundle was secured with seeded paper. California Found has The Golden Ticket, which is perfect for a box coming from The Golden State! One box each month will contain a special ticket that will entitle the subscriber to a free box for themselves or for a friend. Also, California Found is now part of 1% For The Planet, which means they donate at least 1% of their gross revenue to this charity that works to promote a healthier planet. Since this is the October box, they decided to give an additional 10% of profits to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Oh this looks so good!

Everything in my October 2019 California Found box!

Revive Jewelry Sterling Silver Stud Earrings ($35) Subscribers received one of three different color variations sent.

The image is of a breast cancer cell. The posts are sterling silver. Proceeds go towards breast cancer research and you can find jewelry that supports other causes such as Alzheimer’s or skin cancer research.

Barton Burns 8 oz. Soy Candle in Pumpkin Pancakes ($18) We are right in the middle of pumpkin spice everything so this candle came at the perfect time (although I would have accepted this in any of the other 11 months of the year).

The candle smells amazing when cold, like pumpkin and spices and yummy deliciousness. Guess what? It smells just as amazing when it’s burning! The scent was strong enough for my living room but didn’t carry farther than that, which is just how I like it.

Burning instructions and care was on the bottom of the jar. Be safe when burning! Made with soy wax and proceeds go towards funding mission trips for physical therapists (like the Barton Burns owners!).

Honey Belle Moisturizing Face Crème Duo ($30) We received a day and night cream that says it is for all skin types.

The Revitalizing Day Crème (which has a white pump) is lightweight and meant to go on before makeup. Both the day and night cream have similar ingredients such as aloe juice and coconut oil. This one smells a little better than the night cream and is supposed to relieve redness and blotchiness. It did leave a moisturizing film on my skin.

The Replenishing Night Crème (which has a black pump) is supposed to provide the same benefits, such as firming fine lines and wrinkles, as the Day Crème. In fact, I believe the ingredients are identical, just switched around a bit on the list to provide more of one item or the other. It also left a moisturizing film.

California Brittle Co. Mini Bags of Cinnamon Sugar Toasted Almond Brittle & Cashew Brittle ($4 each) These brittles are unlike any I’ve ever tried before!

Ingredients are excessively simple but the flavor is just amazing! The cashew brittle is just butter toffee-licious and imagine my surprise when I found that the brittle is not super hard, it has a softness to it yet it’s not pliable like caramel. The almond brittle tastes like the best cinnamon toast you’ve ever had, with sugar and spice all over the outside and almonds inside. Both were delectable and I let them melt in my mouth to help preserve my dental work.

Our last item came with a card to learn more about this company.

The back of the card listed the ingredients for the rollerball.

Bon Vivant Designs Amethyst Rollerball & Sleep Essential Oil Blend ($39) Try as I might, I couldn’t get the lid to fit on top of this jar.

Look at this cool rollerball, it’s an amethyst stone!

According to the included paper, this is made with a blend of coconut oil and essential oils. There are more amethyst stones in the bottle. I am very familiar with essential oils and looked forward to trying this out, but it has an unpleasant chemical type of smell that I can’t quite place, maybe burnt rubber? I love the idea of this, but it doesn’t work for me. Maybe I got a bad batch?

Overall I loved my California Found October box! The candle and candy were two of the best items I’ve ever received in any box and sent me to my happy place. The earring design and charitable support were excellent touches in the month where breast cancer awareness is promoted. The creams felt luxurious. The only item that didn’t work for me was the rollerball, it didn’t smell right. The value for the October box was around $130! I loved learning about the artists and their products!
