We have full spoilers for the December 2019 Boxwalla Book Box!

The December Book Box is themed: ‘It is Summer Somewhere, It is Winter Somewhere’   in which we open up our literary travel umbrellas (ala Mary Poppins) and travel to Argentina and Russia.

Each box includes:

The first book in the December Book Box is acclaimed Argentinian writer Julio Cortazar’s groundbreaking novel Hopscotch. This novel has an unusual structure complete with a table of instructions on the recommended sequence to follow while reading the book: the first part of the book can be read in order and then you hopscotch around chapters while reading the second part of the book. Thought by many to be the greatest Latin American novel of our time, it follows the protagonist’s existential adventures in Paris and Buenos Aires.

The second book is Russian writer Lyudmila Petrushevskaya’s fantastic collection of three novellas: ‘There Once Lived a Mother Who Loved Her Children Until They Moved Back In’. One of Russia’s greatest living writers, her writing is often compared to Anton Chekov’s, especially in terms of the psychological insights and clarity they provide. This selection includes, the highly acclaimed ‘The Time is Night’, ‘Chocolates with Liqueur’ and ‘Among Friends’.

We have  also included Obvious State’s lovely Puns Bookmark set made with heavy premium matte paper. This set has 6 bookmarks featuring Poe, Kafka, Kant, Lovecraft, Jung & Verne.

Also included is a delightful sticker from family owned sticker company Pipsticks

Retail Value : $42.95

Last date to subscribe is December 5.
