The books this month are Quackers by Liz Wong, and Luis and Tabitha by Stephanie Campisi.

Luts And Tabitha by Stephanie Campisi ($12.04)

Luis is an alley cat who has everything figured out. . .until he meets Tabitha, a beautiful indoor cat. Separated by a tragic glass door, Luis will do anything to be with Tabitha — even brave the dangers of a fire.
With adorable illustrations and undeniable style, Luis and Tabitha is the story of two star-crossed kitties who prove that true love conquers all.

The cover easily got the kids excited. It’s an adorable love story of two cats, Luis and Tabitha!

Luis is an alley cat who lives in the fire station after firefighters had saved him when he was still a kitten. He is living a happy life until he saw a sophisticated and beautiful kitty named Tabitha who lives in a penthouse apartment, and he fell in love!

The illustrations are lovely and the illustrator perfectly captured how dashing Luis looks!

The star-crossed kitty lovers are separated by a glass window, and Tabitha’s human doesn’t want her to be friends with an alley cat. She even keeps on shooing Luis away from her beautiful feline. But Luis proved his love to Tabitha by saving her and her human from a fire, and finally, Tabitha’s human accepted Luis. It’s really a cute story!

Quackers by Liz Wong ($11.82)

Jumpstart’s Read for the Record® selection!

A cat who thinks he’s a duck?  He must be Quackers!!
This quirky funny book is about standing out, fitting in, and building a life with room for all.

Quackers is a duck. Sure, he may have paws and whiskers. And his quacks might sound more like…well, meows, but he lives among ducks, everyone he knows is a duck, and he’s happy.

Then Quackers meets another duck who looks like him (& talks like him, too!)—but he calls himself a cat. So silly!

Quackers loves being among his new friends the cats, but he also misses his duck friends, and so he finds a way to combine the best of both worlds. Part cat, part duck, all Quackers!

The back cover introduces us to the cat-slash-duck named Quackers, the main character of the story!

At first, Quackers thought to himself that he doesn’t quite fit in. The character is quite relatable.

We also appreciate and love the comic-style storytelling of the tale, with all those thought bubbles!

The drawings are really nice and kid-friendly. The story’s lessons are about having the best of both worlds: a moment to stand out, and a moment to fit in, and Quackers achieved both!

The books this month are both adorable! The feline love story is a hit with my kids, as the characters are both lovable. The story is pure and it’s about acceptance, that it doesn’t matter where you’re from or what you are, so long as you have pure heart and intentions. Quacker, on the other hand, tells us more about accepting ourselves and there are moments that we need to stand out instead of trying to fit in! These books deserve a nice spot on our shelves, and we’re looking forward to more amazing titles in the future from this book subscription!
