This is a review of a regular, non-curated box.
The box is full of wonderful sample products!
Along with the items is a lovely sticker sheet!
There’s a card that contains a subscriber-exclusive coupon code for a free travel-sized Sunday Riley Good Genes with a $35+ Shop purchase.
At the back, there’s a reminder for Birchbox’s Gifts with Purchase.
Another card announces Birchbox’s Customer Appreciation Day.
The information card gives brief details on each item as well as the price if you were to buy the full size.
You can visit Birchbox.com/MyBox to easily see the details of your box, which I recommend because sometimes they have videos on the item product pages which I find useful.
The items were wrapped in bright pink tissue paper.
Everything in my September 2019 box!
This month, I got a cute pouch! It says “All The Things” and also comes with a Birchbox logo. This along with stickers are freebies for Customer Appreciation Month.
It fits various makeup essentials. It also comes with a zipper to secure the contents.
MakeUp Drop Hybrid Silicone Pad + Blending Sponge ($20) They put a twist to the usual beauty blender by merging a silicone pad with the blending sponge!
The flat part is made with silicone that you can use to apply foundation and for extra sculpting and even contouring. Of course, the sponge is meant to blend foundation easily.
This makeup tool is easy to handle and to clean as well. Just wash with soap and water, then let it dry.
Amika 3D Volume & Thickening Shampoo ($1.60) Made with a blend of hydrolyzed vegetable protein and sea buckthorn oil, this shampoo gently cleanses to remove build-up while keeping your hair smooth, bouncy, and more manageable. It’s ideal for those who have fine hair like me because it lifts up strands instead of weighing them down. Another key component of this shampoo is Redensyl, which promotes hair growth!
Amika 3D Volume & Thickening Conditioner ($1.2) Also from the same brand is this thickening conditioner! The formula instantly penetrates your strands for a fuller look. It’s packed with antioxidants and omega fatty acids, and just like the shampoo, it promotes hair growth! It doesn’t just give the hair a temporary full look but also promises long term results with continued use.
R+Co Rodeo Star Thickening Style Foam ($10.58) Here’s another volumizing product for fine hair, a styling foam! Powered by vitamin E, kiwi fruit extract, and aloe vera leaf extract, the formula helps make your hair look fuller minus the icky feel. It’s light as air, and it’s hydrating as well! It’s recommended to blow dry your hair after application to maximize the volumizing effect.
Naturally Serious Major Moisture Gentle Cream Cleanser ($1.62) Some powerful cleansers tend to be harsh on the skin, but not this one because it’s made with skin-friendly ingredients such as coconut oil, pomegranate enzyme and licorice root extract.
The formula removes makeup and excess oil effortlessly, revealing healthier, brighter and smoother skin. It even contains antimicrobial probiotics that helps restore skin’s natural balance!
MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Base ($4.94) This fantastic primer ensures that my skin looks smooth and hydrated to create a perfect base for makeup. Ideal for oily skin and combination skin types, it helps makeup last long and prevents it from having excess shine. It contains caffeine plus vitamins E and C to keep your skin calm and hydrated while controlling oil. The primer even leaves the skin with a radiant finish, thanks to pearlescent light-reflecting powders.
Wander Beauty Nude Illusion Liquid Foundation ($6.33) After the primer, the next most important thing is a top-quality foundation. This one is in liquid and provides medium coverage without drying out your skin or making it cakey. It’s weightless and leaves a radiant finish. You can apply it using fingers or a makeup sponge. Key ingredients are moisturizing sodium hyaluronate, anti-inflammatory passiflora incarnata extract, and anti-fine lines lotus extract.
I love my personalized box this month because I got a bunch of items addressing my dry hair concerns! The volumizing shampoo and conditioner combo is amazing, as well as the styling foam that brought my hair back to life. Those three are definitely my favorites, but I also like the rest of the items, like the cleanser, primer, and liquid foundation. They’re all promising and usable! Also included is a beauty tool, which can be used when applying and blending foundation. It’s an amazing curation overall!
