There’s a note that explains why it is important to build a library of books.

There are library book cards that we can stick to each book if ever we are going to lend them to some friends!

The books are sealed in a brown Kraft paper with an orange grosgrain ribbon. It also looks like a perfect gift, and we’re ready to unwrap it!

Everything in my box!

Donuts: The Hole Story by David Miles ($10.77)

Donut cars. Donut trains. Donuts do not make good planes.

In this hilarious ode to the treat with a hole, bright photographic illustrations bring donuts to life like never before! With donut cops (of course), donut pirates (why not), maple bar lumberjacks (eh?), coffee jacuzzis, and a bakeshop full of donut puns, Donuts: The Hole Story is a delicious romp through a world filled with (and made of) everyone’s favorite fat-fried friends.

The donut illustrations at the back look yummy… and punny as well!

We also love the colorful sprinkle design of the endpaper, while the dust jacket provided us some insight on what the tale is all about.

They weren’t kidding when they said this book is all about doughnuts. There’s every kind of them in the book, and they’re quite colorful!

There are doughnut pirates and cops, even doughnut-filled trains and ships! My kids couldn’t help but giggle with all these awesome doughnuts!

Your Elephant Comes To Play by Ale Barba ($14.88)

A hilarious celebration of imagination–and pets–that will have kids laughing

What’s a boy to do when an elephant shows up at his door and wants to play? Eating cake makes a big mess, there’s not enough room in the pool for the two of them, and jumping on the bed may be the biggest disaster of all! But hugs? Well, those work. Elephants are probably the best huggers around.

With dozens of laughs, a big elephant sneeze, and a hug you won’t soon forget, this book will make you wish an elephant came to play at your house too.

The illustrations in this book are cute, and the art style is perfect for kids!

What’s a boy to do when an elephant wants to play with him? I asked the same question with my kids and their answers are all amusing!

The elephant doesn’t really look like an elephant but my kids love it. They also love the cute story!

They love the elephant, although playing with him meant more trouble! My kids actually thought of other stuff to do with the elephant aside from playing with him inside the house, and we all found out that the possibilities are endless!

The kids love the featured stories this month, as well as illustrations and the different art styles presented in each book. We also tried to be more interactive with the stories by posing questions from them that the kids can answer and start a conversation between all of us. I love knowing what’s on their mind after each story, and through these questions, I was able to know what they’ve learned. We’re looking forward to more awesome books from this box!
