I always receive the scent of the month and it turns out that this month’s fragrance was sent to both men and women! I received a card with the fragrance notes listed.
Calvin Klein CK One Platinum Edition ($53 for 1.7 ounces) I’m not usually a fan of what I call department store fragrances but maybe I need to reconsider because I am totally enamored of this scent! It is fresh and clean smelling yet it has a warm undercurrent of spices or maybe woods of some sort. Fragrantica calls it a woody spicy scent and the scent notes include green apple, vetiver, and amber. I can’t really remember what the original CK One smells like so I can’t compare and contrast but I asked my husband what he thought of this scent and he liked it and agreed that it was unisex.

Scent Box sent a surprising unisex scent for the month of August and I am totally loving it! This fragrance is light and clean and fresh smelling but also has just enough warmth to keep it interesting. Of course, you can fill up your scent queue with whatever scents you like but sometimes I like to be surprised and wow, was I surprised this month! The value isn’t particularly high, about $8.42 based on the price of a larger bottle, but I prefer to try before I buy so this is ok by me, since purse size sprays at Sephora are at least $20 so I feel like I still got a good deal.
