We Love Single Women

At SinglesSwag, we do not subscribe to any societal or cultural expectations on women. We believe a woman’s happiness is determined by her outlook and attitude, not by her relationship status. We hope that our monthly package, created with love and delivered right to your doorstep will contribute to your happiness and well being. Never settle.

SinglesSwag May reveal. Anybody else reliving their former punk phase with that safety pin necklace?!?

The information card contains a brief description of each item and its value. This month’s quote is, “the way you treat yourself sets the standard for others.” Remember, the value you place on yourself will define your worth to others.

Unqualified by Anna Faris ($16):  I adore Anna Faris and think that she would be fun to hang out with. So, I was excited to see this book in my SinglesSwag box. It is a quick read and filled with honesty, humor, and some slightly cringe-worthy anecdotes. This is currently available for $12.99 at Amazon.com.

A hilarious, honest memoir–combined with just the right amount of relationship advice–from the popular actress and host of the hit podcast Anna Faris is Unqualified.

Anna Faris has advice for you. And it’s great advice, because she’s been through it all, and she wants to tell you what she’s learned.

After surviving an awkward childhood (when she bribed the fastest boy in the third grade with ice cream), navigating dating and marriage in Hollywood, and building a podcast around romantic advice, Anna has plenty of lessons to share: Advocate for yourself. Know that there are wonderful people out there and that a great relationship is possible. And, finally, don’t date magicians.

Her comic memoir, Unqualified, shares Anna’s candid, sympathetic, and entertaining stories of love lost and won. Part memoir–including stories about being “the short girl” in elementary school, finding and keeping female friends, and dealing with the pressures of the entertainment industry and parenthood–part humorous, unflinching advice from her hit podcast, Anna Faris Is Unqualified, the book will reveal Anna’s unique take on how to master the bizarre, chaotic, and ultimately rewarding world of love.

Hilarious, honest, and useful, Unqualified is the book Anna’s fans have been waiting for.

Melinda Maria | Safety Pin Pendant Necklace ($78):  Um, can I start by saying how much I appreciate the quote on the backer card for the necklace??? I think those are words everyone needs to hear daily.

Now, onto the jewelry. This is a 13.5″ sterling silver plated necklace with a 2″ extender. The pendant is a pave encrusted safety pin. This can be worn by itself, but also makes a great layering piece. Although currently out of stock, it was retailing for $48 at MelindaMaria.com. A goldtone version is also available.

Here’s a closer look at the safety pin pendant. Back in my high school days, I had safety pins in my Converse and usually on a jacket or pair of jeans. While I wore these as a symbol of rebellion, SinglesSwag wants you to wear this and remember that you are safe with yourself.

LARITZY Cosmetics | Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Veto ($22):  This line of liquid lipsticks from LARITZY contains 11 long wearing shades. The intensely pigmented matte formula was designed to be non-drying and water resistant. Each shade will adapt to you, so they’ll appear a bit different on everyone. The shade I received, Veto, is described as a brown nude with a peachy pink undertone. I have so many variations of this shade that one more won’t hurt. LOL! ? ?

The Decorated Cookie Co. | Donut Emoji Cookie ($5):  I liked the cute donut design on this frosted 3″ shortbread cookie. It wasn’t overly sweet and was great as a late afternoon snack with a glass of milk.

Manna Kadar Beauty | Champagne Charcoal Scrub ($38):  This is a lightly champagne scented body scrub formulated with Dead Sea salts and charcoal to remove dirt, polish skin, and hydrate. I like that this scrub is not in an oil base, so it rinses away clean. I noticed that my skin was softer after one use and looked better with each use afterwards. The 400 ml tub retails for $24 at MannaKadarCosmetics.com, making this 210 ml closer to a $13 value.

Mavi Bandz | Boho Adjustable Non-Slip Headband ($18):  This headband has a boho design on ribbon that is a 7/8″ width. It features an adjustable, elastic back and the non-slip technology on the inside ensures it stays in place. Bonus, every Mavi Band comes with a lifetime guarantee of happiness! I like that these headbands can be adjusted for any size head and that they don’t cause me to have headaches when I wear them. This originally retailed for $14.99 at MaviBandz.com, but is currently on sale for $12.99. Neither price is the $18 that SinglesSwag has listed. ?

So Susan | Halo On High Cream-to-Powder Luminizer in Aura ($25):  Halo on High is a soft-focus, luminous powder and cream hybrid highlighter with a light-infusing, radiant finish. This has a velvety texture and glides onto skin nicely with an intense glow. The formula includes skin-awakening Passionflower Extract and Copper Peptides to help lock moisture and reduce the appearance of skin fatigue. It is also vegan and free of mineral oil, parabens, phthalates, and gluten.

Saw a lot of loose powder when I opened this box… Not going to bode well.

Unfortunately, the compact I received had completely crumbled by the time it arrived to me. The product is still viable, but I’m not sure if the mess is worth keeping it. I do SO love this color, though! Dilemma.

Here are swatches of Veto by LARITZY (top) and Aura by So Susan (bottom). The highlighter is definitely one to use when you want a bold glow.

The May SinglesSwag box had a listed value of $202. However, based on the sales and price discrepancies I found, I have the value at $139 – that’s a $63 difference! I’m hoping there was a mistake when someone was entering values on the info card (sometimes I hit a 7 instead of a 4 when using 10-key). While I am upset about the inflated value, I can’t complain about the value to cost ratio for the subscription. The products are still worth more than 3 times the cost!
