May’s OwlCrate theme is Epic Adventures. The boxes always come packed full with the info cards right on top so you get them as soon as you open the box.

OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. One side is a print representing the theme and the other side is the information for the box contents.

The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this month’s box along with little comments on why they were selected or other fun tidbits. The theme follows through even with the info. It is always decorated to go along with that month.

Everything in my May OwlCrate box.

Every month the book comes in a plastic sleeve to protect it in travel.

There is a sticker on the outside of the back letting us know that it is exclusive. I peel this sticker off and place it on the inner sleeve of the jacket.

The booklet includes a comparison of the OwlCrate cover to the Regular cover! Not a huge change this month but they both look awesome. I love the castle!

We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal($11.39) – Anything with the Prince of Death always captivates me. He pops up in lots of shows and books and he is always a tortured soul. This has a bit of a Hunger Games feel from the description so I’m curious to see if I get the same vibe when I’m reading it.

People lived because she killed. People died because he lived.

Zafira is the Hunter, disguising herself as a man when she braves the cursed forest of the Arz to feed her people. Nasir is the Prince of Death, assassinating those foolish enough to defy his autocratic father, the sultan. If Zafira was exposed as a girl, all of her achievements would be rejected; if Nasir displayed his compassion, his father would punish him in the most brutal of ways. Both Zafira and Nasir are legends in the kingdom of Arawiya―but neither wants to be.
War is brewing, and the Arz sweeps closer with each passing day, engulfing the land in shadow. When Zafira embarks on a quest to uncover a lost artifact that can restore magic to her suffering world and stop the Arz, Nasir is sent by the sultan on a similar mission: retrieve the artifact and kill the Hunter. But an ancient evil stirs as their journey unfolds―and the prize they seek may pose a threat greater than either can imagine.

The book also came with a note from the author and print.

This month’s book was also signed by the author!

Sleep Mask designed by Bookworm Boutique – With the theme Epic Adventures we are kicking it off right with a sleep mask. This one is so soft and silky and will be perfect for all my travel needs. Inspired by A Court of Mist and Fury we will all dream of adventures with the Inner Circle.

Passport Wallet designed by Kit Cronk Studio – How else are you going on your adventure than with your passport! I always travel with mine and normally it’s just stashed in my bag. This will keep it protected and easy to grab. Featuring a quote from the Hobbit it has me ready for summer travel!

The inside of the passport wallet has a zipper pocket on one side and two slide-in sections on the other. It is also the perfect size for sliding into my to go bag.

Water Bottle designed by KDPLetters – Can’t take this one on the plane but I’m planning to carry it with me all summer. Inspired by Stardust this is a great clear glass bottle for on the go. It came in its own OwlCrate box loaded with stars.

Hard to take pictures of a clear glass bottle but the saying is on one side.

Then our OwlCrate Owl is on the top. How stinkin’ cute is this!

All the details and info are on the back of the box.

Pillowcase designed by Stella Bookish Art – I’m getting a great collection of pillowcases from OwlCrate. I’m really thinking of redoing my guest room like a large library and these will be awesome in there.  We already have our bookshelves in there so adding the bedding and decorations wouldn’t be a big stretch. This pillowcase is inspired by Lila Bard from A Darker Shade of Magic.

Exclusive Pin – The exclusive Enamel pin this month was designed by the author of our featured book We Hunt the Flame through her design company IceyDesigns. It pays tribute to both the main characters and the setting of the story.

Vinyl Sticker designed by Naomi Lord – This sticker is inspired by Howl’s Moving Castle which is actually a book I’ve never heard of. The sticker is really cute and gives me a Holly Hobbie type vibe in its style and coloring.

Owl Crate sent a box ready for an adventure this month. We can start with planning while drinking from our water bottle and then taking our passport in our new wallet and using our sleep mask on the plane. We just finished up school here so I’m ready for lots of adventures through the summer and beyond.
