Of course, there’s a list of the items we should be expecting in this month’s box.

This part of the magazine features Sakura Mochi Cookies and DIY Kit Candy Apple!

Discover Japan page shares a bit of Japan’s local culture every month. This month, it’s about Hanami, or the traditional Japanese custom of flower viewing. They even included Japanese vocabulary words.

This booklet also comes with a fun activity related to the theme.

Everything inside the box!

Furuta Sakura Mochi Cookies. These scrumptious soft cookies are based on the traditional Japanese Sakura Mochi. Each piece features a unique pinkish color on the outside and a yummy filling inside. It’s so chewy and flavorful, you can easily taste the refreshing sakura flavor. It’s also perfect with hot coffee or tea!

Calbee Sakura Shrimp Chips. Shrimp chips in sakura flavor? It sounds strange but it’s actually tasty. The floral sakura notes mixed with shrimp flavor surprisingly tastes wonderful. Plus points because each piece of the shrimp snack is light and crunchy. I think it’s the perfect springtime snack, and it’s great paired with some soda!

Lipton Sakura Tea. Tea is a popular beverage in Japan, so it’s not surprising that they have sakura-flavored tea as well. Each pack contains 12 bags of tea. It’s a great addition to your picnic basket!

Sumikko Gurashi Card And Seal Gum. It’s a pack of gum that comes with an adorable Sumikko Gurashi card and sticker!

Nori Potato Sticks. This crunchy potato snack is loaded with nori or salty seaweed flavor. It’s easy to eat so it’s perfect as an on-the-go treat.

Nacho Cheese Pringles. You can never go wrong with Pringles! This version of Pringles captures the flavors of a cheesy Mexican nacho. Each chip is crunchy and dusted with just the right amount of flavor. If you love nachos and a fan of Pringles, this is the crossover you wouldn’t want to miss!

Crushed Strawberry Pocky. It’s a limited edition version of Pocky! It contains two packs of pretzel sticks covered with a creamy strawberry-flavored coating. There’s even real strawberry bits!

Yaokin Porickey German Potato Sticks. If you are looking for a savory snack, these pretzel sticks are for you. It tastes similar to a creamy potato with bacon!

Ramune Energy Drink Bubble Candy. These are energy-boosting candies infused with ramune flavor. Ramune is a carbonated soft drink popular in Japan. Each piece produces tingly bubbles when put inside the mouth!

Anpanman Soft Corn. These yummy corn snacks are light and airy. Each piece is also ring-shaped. We got 4 packs for sharing!

Yaokin Kinako Cake. Kinako is roasted soybean powder with a rich nutty flavor. It’s one of the main ingredients of these cookies. I also love the mochi bits throughout the cookie because they make it chewier. It goes well with the sakura tea!

Umaibo Mentaiko Flavor. This popular Japanese snack is a staple in the box. Umaibo is a crunchy corn puff with a variety of tasty flavor. This month’s version features a savory mentaiko, or fish roe, flavor.

Abekko Ramune Candies. This ramune candy features a luscious strawberry flavor that melts slowly and turns into bubbles once inside your mouth.

Candy Apple DIY Kit. This month’s DIY kit includes a plastic tray, toothpick, apple soft candy, sprinkle pack, and candy sauce pack. It’s so easy to make! Simply put the soft apple candy on one side of the tray and the sprinkle packet and candy sauce on the other side. Stick the toothpick into the apple candy, dip it in the candy sauce and the sprinkles, and enjoy!

This month’s Tokyo Treat box is filled with flavorful snacks! There was a nice balance of sweet, salty, crunchy, and cheesy snacks and some even come in small packs perfect for sharing with your family or friends. As always the DIY candy kit is fun and easy to make. It’s something my kids and I always look forward to.
