April’s OwlCrate theme is The Dark Side. The boxes always come packed full with the info cards right on top so you get them as soon as you open the box.

OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. One side is a print representing the theme and the other side is the information for the box contents.

The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this month’s box along with little comments on why they were selected or other fun tidbits. The theme follows through even with the info. It is always decorated to go along with that month.

Everything in my April OwlCrate box.

Every month the book comes in a plastic sleeve to protect it in travel.

There is a sticker on the outside of the back letting us know that it is exclusive. I peel this sticker off and place it on the inner sleeve of the jacket.

The booklet includes a comparison of the OwlCrate cover to the Regular cover! The contrast is light and dark this month. They are both fantastic.

Wicked Saints by Emily Duncan($11.44) – The first book of a trilogy and it will introduce us to all the characters and lead us to the war. I need to see how the girl, prince and boy come together to fight the king and stop all the war going on around.

A girl who can speak to gods must save her people without destroying herself.

A prince in danger must decide who to trust.

A boy with a monstrous secret waits in the wings.

Together, they must assassinate the king and stop the war.

In a centuries-long war where beauty and brutality meet, their three paths entwine in a shadowy world of spilled blood and mysterious saints, where a forbidden romance threatens to tip the scales between dark and light. Wicked Saints is the thrilling start to Emily A. Duncan’s devastatingly Gothic Something Dark and Holy trilogy.

The book also came with a note from the author and fabric book map.

This month’s book was also signed by the author!

Six of Crows socks by Out of Print  – Officially licensed Six of Crows socks will have us joining the ranks of the Drags.  I’m always a sucker for a good pair of socks and I’m loving this deep red color.

Scarf by Bookmark’d Tattoos – A stunning purple scarf inspired by the Grishaverse. There is so much detail in this design.

The scarf is large and has a smooth feel to it. I wasn’t able to get the whole layout but look at all the detail in here. It lays perfectly and will be stunning on a night out.

Pin Banner by Michelle Gray – Without owlcrate sending an exclusive new pin each month it’s great that they now sent us a banner to display them on. It is perfect timing as I have recently bought banners for my son’s to display their collectible pins so now we have a collection of three to show them all.

Exclusive Pin  – This month’s collectible pin was designed by Hey Atlas Creative and is inspired by the beaded necklace Nadya uses in the Wicked Saints.

Hardcover Notebook by Stella Bookish Art – I’m a notebook addict. You can never have too many and OwlCrate could send one every month and I’d be in.  I’m still a paper and pencil girl. There is just something about being able to check off or cross off things from a to-do list.  It is so satisfying.

Vicious inspired phone holder by Hey Atlas Creative – I may be the last person to do this but I don’t have one of these on my phone. I’ve looked and looked and just haven’t settled on one but OwlCrate sent a super fun one for me to try out.

They also included a sample of the Finale book for us to check out. I love that they are keeping us informed of other new books coming up and especially the ones that are continuations of ones they had included in our subscription.

Owl Crate sent darkly wicked book this month. The items are fun and so well designed. The scarf is stunning and as I said I’m obsessed with the notebook.  Maybe OwlCrate will come out with a notebook of the month club. I’d be all over that one.  This month’s book is the first of a trilogy so now to decide to read it right away or wait until I can get them all. I really enjoy all my books so do I want to have to wait later or wait now.  I can’t decide but I’ll probably cave and dive right in. Reading new books is so exciting and keeps me up to date.
