Each box from this book subscription includes a toy or item that is in line with the book’s theme. This month, we got something that we need to complete first. It’s like a puzzle but that shape is already giving us an idea! ?

Completing the parts and adding all the details, we got an adorable eye-goggling bee!

Cats Get Famous by Ron Barrett ($17.99)

Three singing cats go from the back alley to super stardom in this companion to Cats Got Talent, from the bestselling illustrator of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

Once upon a fence there was a trio of cats: Hal, Dora, and Geneva. And nothing made them happier than singing together—because these Cats Got Talent! When Lekvar Smirk heard their meowing melody, however, he had a plan. It wasn’t a very nice plan. He wanted to take the cats to audition for Animal Idol—and then keep the prize for himself! But the cats have other ideas…

Mee-yow! The cats Hal, Dora, and Geneva have talent, and they make good melodies together!

The dust jacket’s flap gives us more idea about what the story is all about, and even features the 3 kitties!

Ron Barrett did very well on the illustrations. He made it easier for the kids to understand what’s happening in the story, while the older ones appreciate how good the artwork is!

The story incorporates current happenings in reality, like joining a talent search! And like the usual problem with this kind of plot, the bad guy is using the cats to gain for himself. The kids may get angry at the bad guy for being awful, but the kids can also take some moral with them as they finish the story.

The Amazing Hamweenie Escapes by Patty Bowman ($14.66)

STEWIE GRIFFIN MEETS GRUMPY CAT IN A BOOK FOR CAT LOVERS OF ANY AGE!

He’s free! The Amazing Hamweenie, legend in his own mind, hero to millions of adoring fans who have yet to meet him, has finally escaped the evil clutches of the little girl who showers him with love and stuffs him full of delectable treats. Where will our tortured star go? To the circus, of course! The spotlight of center ring beckons him — the elephants, monkeys, and tigers in desperate need of a leader. Hamweenie will gift them with his presence!

So why is it that his greatness goes unappreciated? Does no one recognize a true star when they see one?

In this companion to The Amazing Hamweenie, Patty Bowman brings a touch of Edward Gorey,  a dash of Stewie Griffin, a pinch of Grumpy Cat, and even a shake of Maru to the secret mind of one adorable pet cat.

As Hamweenie grows tired of the love and treats he’s getting, he decided to escape and go to the circus!

Aside from the book’s synopsis included on the flaps of the book’s dust jacket, there are also adorable illustrations of different cat poses on the inside of the book’s cover!

I just don’t get why Hamweenie gets tired of the attention from his human, but then, as we go along the story, we found out that he wants to be appreciated by others, and be a celebrity!

It’s more of pictures than text, which makes some scenes self-explanatory. It’s fine as it sparks a good conversation among my kids!

Bitty Boy by Tim McCanna ($12.11)

“Told in jaunty, rollicking rhymes that are enlivened by colorful, humorous digital illustrations, this robot version of a bedtime story demonstrates that, no matter how energetic a little ‘bot’ may be, there inevitably comes a time when ‘batteries are running low!’” —Kirkus Reviews

A little robot would rather go on an intergalactic adventure than go to sleep in this rhyming romp that breaks all the bedtime rules.

In a busy robot town
bots begin to power down.
All except for Bitty Bot!
Feeling sleepy?
Maybe not!

Charming text in rhyming verse tells the story of energetic Bitty Bot, who, instead of going to bed decides to build a rocket and go on a space adventure! Sweet and fun to read aloud, this bedtime book is perfect for tots and bots of all varieties.

My kids got excited when they saw the cover of this book because they love anything about the outer space!

The dust jacket’s flap includes a short synopsis and some cute drawings related to the story!

My kids can totally relate to the bot. Instead of sleeping, they want to go on a space adventure. I can say the timing of this book is perfect.

They loved the cartoon-like illustrations as well!

My kids love getting new books and Owl Post certainly didn’t disappoint! They loved the Bitty Bot the most, and they also enjoyed the cat-themed book. As a parent, I also love this subscription as they help me with inspiring the kids to read books and have fun while reading. The books are age-appropriate and high-quality as well. They make great bedtime stories, and we might even bring some when we travel! Overall, this is a great box packed with fun and entertaining reads! We can’t wait for more new books next month!
