March’s OwlCrate theme is Murder and Mayhem. The boxes always come packed full with the info cards right on top so you get them as soon as you open the box.

OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. One side is a print representing the theme and the other side is the information for the box contents.

The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this month’s box along with little comments on why they were selected or other fun tidbits. The theme follows through even with the info. It is always decorated to go along with that month.

Everything in my March OwlCrate box.

Every month the book comes in a plastic sleeve to protect it in travel.

There is a sticker on the outside of the back letting us know that it is exclusive. I peel this sticker off and place it on the inner sleeve of the jacket.

The booklet includes a comparison of the OwlCrate cover to the Regular cover! I really enjoy both the red and blue options.

Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte ($10.77) – This sounds like a great tv show. Two polar opposites: a skilled thief and liar and an honest upstanding citizen end up tossed together on the run during a full-on murder investigation. With the added murders being queens I could see how this would play out on the tv. I can’t wait to read the story and see how it plays out on the page.

Four dead queens. Three days to catch a killer. Two forbidden romances.
One shocking twist you won’t see coming.

Seventeen-year-old Keralie Corrington may seem harmless, but she’s, in fact, one of Quadara’s most skilled thieves and a liar. Varin, on the other hand, is an honest, upstanding citizen of Quadara’s most enlightened region, Eonia. He runs afoul of Keralie when she steals a package from him, putting his life in danger. When Varin attempts to retrieve the package, he and Keralie both find themselves entangled in a conspiracy that leaves all four of Quadara’s queens dead.

With no other choices and on the run from Keralie’s former employer, the two decide to join forces, endeavoring to discover who has killed the queens and save their own lives in the process. When their reluctant partnership blooms into a tenuous romance, they must overcome their own dark secrets in hopes of a future together that seemed impossible just days before. But first they have to stay alive and untangle the secrets behind the nation’s four dead queens.

An enthralling fast-paced mystery where competing agendas collide with deadly consequences, Four Dead Queens heralds the arrival of an exciting new YA talent.

The book also came with a note from the author and art print.

This month’s book was also signed by the author!

Exclusive Travel Mug – I have loved all the mugs that OwlCrate has sent me and this travel mug is not an exception.  Inspired by Nevernight, it will have us joining the ranks of the assassins of The Red Church.

The mug says “Never Flinch, Never Fear, Never Forget” and is vibrantly colored with roses and crows.

The font of the saying is also fantastic and makes a stunning statement.

OwlCrate thought of everything and even sent a sleeve for the mug so we don’t burn our fingers.

Coming in its own special box with all of the instructions on the side.

Exclusive Canvas Drawstring Backpack – This will come in so handy this summer as my boys and I head out on all kinds of adventures. It is really a thick canvas and very durable.

I’m liking all the little skulls and poison vials. They are all over the outside of the backpack and also on the cutest little zipper pouch on the inside.  How cute is the little pouch? Such great detail and very useful.

Wooden Bookmark – Do I dare admit that I’m not a fan of Game of Thrones? I watched the first 4ish seasons and it just did not draw me back in. I feel like that is saying you don’t like Harry Potter or something but there you go I said it. I do however love this bookmark and all the detail. I’m an NCState Wolfpack alumni so all things Wolfpack are just right for me.

Exclusive Candle – In the Wick of Time created three exclusive candles for the OwlCrate boxes this month all inspired by The Savage Song. I got the nice smelling Corsai which has hints of black cherry and lime.

Exclusive Sticker – This exclusive sticker was illustrated by Jamila Mchio and inspired by the Three Dark Crowns. The ladies on the sticker are fierce looking. Now I need a great place to display it.

Monthly Enamel Pin – This month’s pin is a compass from artist Iron and Ink Designs and inspired by the quadrants in the Four Dead Queens.

Owl Crate sent a murderous box this month. The bag and travel mug are AMAZING this month and I can’t wait to dig into these spring months and being able to use them both. OwlCrate keeps surprising me with all the fun items they come up with each month an I can never wait to see what book they send and what extras they design.
