There are LOTS of snacks in this box!

The theme for the month of April is HANAMI!

They encourage subscribers to upload their Japan Crate photos on social media using #JAPANCRATE for a chance to be featured on the next month’s issue!

Inside the booklet is a chart of contents that lists all the snacks from three different box sizes. There are 3 different subscription levels available: The Mini includes 5 items, the Original includes those items PLUS another 5 items, and the Premium includes those 10 items PLUS another 5 items.

The tiers are cumulative, so our Premium Box has everything on the page!

It also includes food and cultural info about Japan.

Everything in my April 2019 box!

Pride Potato Tea Salt. Matcha green tea is a popular drink and an ingredient in desserts, but I never thought it would be great with potato chips until I had this snack! From the packaging to the taste, these potato chips are quite sophisticated. Each piece is tasty and crunchy, plus the matcha powder and sea salt really blended well.

Rilakkuma Gummy. Rilakkuma, a famous fictional bear character from Japan, is featured on this flavorful gummy candy in green apple flavor. It’s chewy and bursting with just the right combination of tartness and sweetness!

Ika Ashi Arare. These squid-flavored rice crackers are seasoned with sea salt and fried to perfection. The crunch, plus the savory flavors that explode in my mouth with each bite make it so satisfying to munch on. It’s a great snack for watching TV and even when you’re on the go!

Grape Gum. It’s a grape-flavored bubblegum with an extremely gooey center. Each pack contains 3 pieces, with 1 of them being super sour. You can test your luck with 2 other friends and see who gets the sour one!

Rilakkuma Gum. We got another Rilakkuma treat, and this time it’s a piece of chewing gum! This gum is juicy and refreshing, as it features a long-lasting soda taste.

Okashi Na Mizu Ame DIY Candy. This month’s DIY candy kit includes a plastic tray, a mixer, and 3 individually wrapped juices with ramune soda, lemon, and strawberry flavors. It’s so easy to make, just put all the three gels on the tray and mix them using the plastic mixer until they become purple and taste like a sweet grape flavor.

Cheetos Cheese. It’s the Japanese version of Cheetos! The crunchy corn snack boasts of a double coating of cheese powder, making it yummier and tastier than the usual Cheetos.

Osamano Wasuremono. Soft and chocolaty, this crown-shaped cookie makes such a satisfying snack. It can be heated up to make its creamy chocolate filling gooey and more delicious.

Mochitto Pudding. This pack contains two delicious puddings. They’re not soft and squishy, but tasty too. It’s the perfect treat to pair with hot coffee or tea!

Hi-Chew Mini. Various flavored candies are included in this small triangular pouch. Flavors include soda, grapes, peach, and lemon. They’re all tasty and refreshing to chew on!

Sour Long Gum Mini Cola. The pop and fizzle of your usual cola are present in this cola-flavored long gum. It’s so chewy and the flavor is long-lasting!

Sakura Pepsi J-Cola. This version of Pepsi Cola is definitely one of the best and the most unique so far. It features a sweet cherry blossom scent and a scrumptious cotton candy flavor.

Kit Kat Strawberry. Getting a pack of KitKat as a bonus item is totally amazing! This month’s version of KitKat features their luscious trademark milky chocolate blended with real strawberry flavor. There’s a total of 12 individually wrapped bite-sized KitKat in each pack, perfect for sharing with your family and friends!

Hi-Chew Premium Melon. We got another pack of chewy candy and this time it features a mouthwatering melon flavor! Each piece is soft and bite-sized. It’s a popular treat in Japan and now I understand why.

Takenoko No Sato Cheesecake. We got a limited edition flavor of this popular Japanese snack! It features a yummy cookie base with a creamy cheesecake topping instead of the regular chocolate topping. It indeed tasted similar to a cheesecake! So tasty, I immediately emptied the bag!

Mini Asparagus Butter. Although this snack is called Mini Asparagus Butter, it doesn’t include asparagus at all. It’s just plain toasted bread with a crunchy texture. It’s the ideal snack to pair with a hot chocolate or coffee.

Chocolate Pie Kyo Matcha. Chocolate pie is always a welcome treat! This one is a level up from the usual choco pies because it includes a matcha green tea filling instead of a cream filling. What didn’t change is the soft and moist bread plus the tasty chocolate coating!

Pine Candy Gummy. Pineapple lovers, this gummy candy is for you. It’s a bit sweet and a bit sour, and an overall refreshing treat with flavors bursting in your mouth.

We can’t get enough of Japanese snacks and Japan Crate helps us fulfill our cravings every month! As expected, this month’s box was filled with a nice variety of snacks, including savory, chocolaty, sweet, and fruity ones. There’s even a bonus pack of KitKat, which our whole family enjoyed. The Premium box is worth getting if you want to share the flavors of Japan with your loved ones, but if you think this box is pretty big for you, then you can try the Mini box or the Original box!
