All the contents are protectively packaged, with lots of white squiggles too!

The box can also serve as a cutting mat with a ruler.

Every box comes with a booklet that includes all the crafting instructions.

Everything in my box!

Aside from the welcome note from the Crayola® CIY Box Team, it also lists all the items included in the box!

The first craft that we worked on is the Marble Clock!

Craft 1: Marble Clock. The booklet includes detailed instructions oh how we can do the projects with ease.

For this craft, they provided four Crayola® Washable Kids’ Paints: metallic silver, classic red, blue, and white.

Aside from the paints, they also provided a wooden circle with a drilled hole for the clock’s body and a clock mechanism to make it work!

To make the marbled-color paint, my daughter put the paints in a single cup without mixing them.

She put the white paint on top of the blue one.

She used blue, white, and red paints for this one.

She then poured the paint on the wooden circle.

Not mixing the paints creates a cool marbled pattern!

She poured it around the wooden circle, the patterns following the shape of the wood!

Here’s how it looked before she scattered the paint around the circle.

To cover the whole thing she swirled the paint around the wooden circle.

The motion created more marbled patterns.

Here’s how it looks after. I think the upper part looks awesome. She let it dry before adding more details to it.

She used the silver metallic paint to add the numbers on the clock’s face.

After thoroughly drying the paint, she assembled the clock mechanism.

She secures the battery pack at the back with a nut in front.

She attached the clock’s hands after.

The clock is ready and it looks wonderful!

Craft 2: Marble Treasure Dish. The next activity is about making a marbled dish!

We are provided with packs of Crayola® Model Magic for this activity.

Crayola® also included a paintbrush.

The instructions even included Pro Tips that can help a lot with the crafting process.

Following the instructions, my daughter used several colors of the modeling clay.

The cool colors created beautiful swirl patterns.

Then, she formed the clay into a dish-shape.

The more you stretch the clay, the thinner your dish becomes.

The dish just air-dries – we love Model Magic – no baking!

It turned awesome!

The dish can be used as a container for keys, small items like clips, jewelry pieces, or even candies! It will look nice on a side cabinet, or a center table!

Craft 3: Make A Mobile. The bonus challenge for this month, and the craft that when you accomplish can win you prizes, is a mobile!

For this activity, we are still using the Crayola® Model Magic to form the clay models.

After forming the circles, the kids poked the middle to create holes on them.

They even mixed the clays to form a new color!

They even created an array of different shapes!

Aside from circles, there are even star and heart shapes!

I believe this is my 4 year old’s “pizza”!

My kids enjoyed crafting all of these!

The box also included a piece of their known permanent markers placed inside an organza pouch.

The permanent marker is available in different colors. We got it in Eternal Crystal.

The permanent marker works on most surfaces like coated paper, photos, fabric, canvas, metal, plastic, or even wood! But don’t be fooled – these are wee little notepads!

It has a comfort grip that makes you write with ease and the smooth fine lines that you can do with the marker is great for adding details! My daughter is hoping more will be in future boxes.

Our very first Crayola®CIY Box is awesome! The kids really enjoyed making the crafts, and it’s fun that they get to use different materials in making fantastic and useful items. They loved the marble clock and we plan on hanging it on our wall, while the marble dish can be used as an item organizer on top of our side cabinet. This is a great box to develop the kids’ artistic skills! We’re really happy to get this box, and we’re looking forward to the next crafts that we’re going to do! It’s also a great box for quality bonding time with the whole family!
