Nakedwines.com is an artisan wine customer-funded service. Pay $40 per month as an “angel” to crowdfund wines – in return get exclusive access to top-notch wines, discounts, and more. You get the entire value of your contribution back as wine (you’re pretty much just pre-paying). If you want your money back, you can have it back. It’s pretty low risk and people seem to dig this service.

DEAL: Get 6 bottles of wine for just $39.99 + FREE Shipping! Just use this link to subscribe, no coupon needed.

We decided to finally use one of our many box vouchers to order a giant case of wine! We used a $100 off voucher, and you can grab one right here – it will automatically fill in the details for you! You will save $100 off your first order. If you enter and submit your email information it should save it for later, too.

I picked a mixed case – 3 reds and 3 whites. You can order to your heart’s content! My case was shipped via FedEx and keep in mind that an adult 21 years old or older must sign for the delivery. You can also arrange to pick it up, I know my local Walgreens offers this free service.

I received a packing list with my wines listed.

What is this?

They are hang tags that you can place on the wines if you choose to share them with friends! They each had a code on the back (like the one on the top right of the picture) so your friends can check out this subscription too!

Everything in my box!

I ordered a mix case – 3 whites and 3 reds. I prefer white, my husband likes red, so there’s something for both of us! We each chose one to drink for the review, the others will be opened eventually and leftovers will be used in recipes!

Here are the reds. Each bottle has some info on the back.

Matt Parish Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 ($39.99) My husband went for this classic red for the review. Upon opening he said it smelled like plums. He picked up spicy flavors and said the wine was smooth and dry, and compared it to biting into a tart berry. From the Napa Valley and made with Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Serve with a juicy steak.

ROX Scott Peterson Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2017 ($31.99) is a rich and smooth red made with Pinot Noir grapes from California. Although it’s ready to drink now it can be aged for 3-5 years and may be served with rich meat or cheeses.

F. Stephen Miller Black Label Red Angel Calaveras County Red Blend 2017 ($24.99) I wanted an easy-drinking red and can’t wait to try this fruity number. Made with 7 grape varietals from Calaveras County, California, which is known for their rich reds.

Now onto the whites!

DRG Daryl Groom Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc 2018 ($21.99) I chose this white sipper for a weeknight evening and it quickly provided a burst of summer on a cold winter’s day. It is considered a clean and crisp white and is made with Sauvignon Blanc grapes from Australia. Goes well with seafood or just all by its little ol self. I likey!

Keith Hock Blanc de Blancs Los Carneros Sonoma 2016 ($44.99) I am saving this Blanc de Blanc for summer, when my daughter graduates from university and turns 21. Celebrate good times! Blanc de Blanc are champagnes made from white grapes, most notably Chardonnay. According to Nakedwines.com, it will taste best between now and 2028. That’s a long time to age but it will become more complex as the years advance.

David Akiyoshi Reserve Clarksburg Chardonnay 2017 ($19.99) Hallmarks of a Chardonnay are creamy mouthfeel so I will save this for a night I serve chicken fettuccine alfredo. Made with grapes grown in Clarksbrug, California. In fact, 5 out of 6 of these wines were from The Golden State.

I was VERY impressed with my first ever shipment of Nakedwines.com! We tried two bottles and both were of exceptional quality. You are free to pick the wines you wish, and you can either use the voucher (for first time orders) or your $40 Angel payment toward any wines on the site. Want all reds, all whites, or a case of moscato? It’s up to you! I was also happy to see that the wines age well and that it is easy to pick bottles based on type, style, country of origin, and even winemaker. You can take a quiz for suggestions too.
