Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box that brings only the best and exclusive Sephora beauty and makeup samples. The subscription costs $10 per month, and you’ll get 5 deluxe beauty products, playlists, a fragrance bonus item, plus coupons you can use when you visit in-store.

If I see the black and white stripes, Sephora box is here!

Your subscription also entitles you to PLAY! Date meetups if your store participates. I don’t even have a Sephora (not even a JCP one) but this box totally excites me even without those experiences. I love the high-end brands every month for just $10.

Everything is in the transparent red plastic pouch as usual.

The fold-out poster has a really cute illustration of this month’s theme and a lot of helpful tips on skin care and makeup. Plus, a reminder that you can now use your Play! Pass online! That little card is a PLAY! Pass that will get you 50 extra Beauty Insider points with a purchase from the box, in-store or online. You can also get a complimentary mini makeover!

This month’s featured beauty tips also promotes self-love!

A dash of relaxation and a hint of bold beauty — gather the ingredients for a powerful love potion that’s all about you.

This month’s theme is Lovestruck Beauty! The fold-out poster also shows a list of all the items included in this box plus beauty trivia and tips.

The packaging is really cute and playful! The design is vibrant and see-through at the same time. You can have a subtle peek on the contents without the need to open it. They are all in travel-sized packaging.

Everything in my box hide] (variation #261)[/hide]! See the spoilers for all the variations here. Your box could vary – it’s built off your profile!

Wander BeautyBaggage Claim Gold Eye Masks ($4.16) For me, it’s important to have a fresh look every day to help me take on any task confidently. And this pair of eye masks do the trick because they reduce the appearance of dark circles and brighten my eyes. The aloe leaf extract makes them so soothing and relaxing to use plus they don’t slip easily so they stay intact even if I move around.

Kat Von D Saint Eau De Parfum ($3.30)  A whiff of scent from this sampler makes me want to buy the whole bottle. It gives a classic floral and vanilla fragrance that’s not too overpowering but stays on throughout the day.

Kat Von D Sinner Eau De Parfum ($3.30) Even though this scent shares the same floral soul as Saint, I can say that it is still a different experience because of the added bold and spicy twist. It can be worn alone or layered together with Saint. Putting this on gives you a sexy, mysterious vibe that’s perfect for a night out.

Originally created in 2009, the Saint + Sinner fragrances are resurrected with the same covetable scents and a completely reimagined design.

CliniqueQuickliner for Eyes in Intense Ebony ($9) After using the gold eye mask all night, this highly pigmented liner makes my eyes look more intense and lively.

I think this automatic pencil is a great alternative to liquid or cream liner. It has the same depth and intensity but with the ease of application. The texture is soft and it glides on smoothly. The best thing is that it stays put despite humidity. Using it can be a bit tricky though because it doesn’t retract so what I do is swivel up only a teeny bit to prevent it from breaking.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Sake ($8.95) This lipstick is a medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin sheen. It contains Resveratrol which acts as an antioxidant and formulated with natural and organic ingredients.

It has a pigmentation that looks opaque in a single layer which adheres evenly and smoothly across my skin. It also wears for long hours and feels moisturizing over time.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum ($26.07) Packed with patented viniferine and olive squalene, this serum helps improve the appearance of dark spots such as acne marks and also promotes even skin tone. The formula even contains mint, caraway, and galbamum that give it a wonderful scent. It’s lightweight and non-greasy so it works well under makeup. For best results, it is suggested to be used in the morning and the evening. It’s 1/3 the full size of a hefty priced product!

Clinique Moisture Surge 72-hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator ($5.50) I love discovering new hydrating products because dryness is my constant skin woe. This one is a refreshing gel-cream that provides an instant moisture boost. It’s packed with hyaluronic acid, which is known as nature’s perfect moisture magnet. My skin loved it! It has a nice scent, a really lightweight formula, and my face looked radiant after a few days of use.

It’s a great combination of makeup and skincare goodies. All of these make a solid beauty routine!

Play! by Sephora impressed me this month because of the good variety of items! Two makeup products and three skincare items pack a lot of value in this $10 subscription box. I even got perfume samples, and it’s also good to note that the Caudalie serum’s retail value is more than twice the box’s price! Considering my skin type and my skincare preferences, my favorite is definitely the Clinique hydrating gel-cream. I just really loved how it kept my skin feeling soft and hydrated all day. If you’re also looking for variety and value in your beauty subscription, you might want to give this one a try!
