The items were covered with white squiggles.

The theme for the February 2019 OwlCrate Jr. box is  LOST & FOUND!

Included in the box is an information card.

As we take out the squiggles, we’re slowly revealing what’s inside the box, and the kids are really excited!

Everything in the February OwlCrate JR. box!

Included in the box is a mini magazine.

It features an interview of the author for this month’s book, Anne Ursu. Knowing what inspired the author to pen a story can help children understand the book better.

They also suggested some titles for further reading, especially if you love this month’s book:

Orphan Island by Laurel Synder ($11.89)

Snow & Rose by Emily Winfield Martin ($14.39)

The Real Boy by Anne Ursu ($13.79)

And for added fun, they also included some activities in the mini-mag, like this crossword puzzle. The other page features an interview with a vendor!

If your kid wants to join the Photo Challenge, the mechanics are found on this page. They also provided the theme for next month’s OwlCrate Jr. box.

Lord of the Rings-inspired Wall Hanging. I agree with this quote! It’s a good reminder that sometimes, it’s in an adventure that you truly find yourself. This will be perfect for pinning our OwlCrate Jr. pins on!

Tassel Bookmark. This side speaks the truth, as my daughter usually gets lost in a book, especially if the story is really engaging.

We find ourselves there, too!

Pin. The pin has the same maze design as the mini-mags’ front cover. It’s cute and will look really good on a denim tote or jacket, or on the banner!

Remembrall-Inspired Bath Bomb. This Wizarding World-inspired inclusion is really the bomb! It’s based on the Remembrall, a large marble-sized glass ball that contains smoke which turns red when its owner has forgotten something.

I love the shiny gold on the red-pinkish color of this bomb, and we can’t wait to fizz it up!

Where’s Waldo? Games On The Go! by Martin Handford ($11.94)

Take it on the road! Waldo’s activities will challenge and entertain fans for hours in a format perfect for travel.

Dial up the brainpower and dive into this crazy collection of mazes, memory games, spot-the-difference activities, matching exercises, quizzes, doodles, tangled line teasers, and more. They’re all tucked into a compact volume designed to go anywhere you do, with a classy elasticized closure for packing things up when you’re done.

Have you found Waldo yet?

Waldo is the master of getting lost in the crowd, and this activity book contains lots of mazes, memory games, spot-the-difference activities, and matching exercise. There are also quizzes, doodles, tangled line teasers, and a foldout board game too.

There are lots of activities in this book where you just have to find Waldo! We are always looking out for his red-and-white-striped sweater, glasses, and his bobble hat!

Aside from the classic finding Waldo games, there are also puzzles!

This is a fun book to keep the kids busy for a long time, and I bet this will be a perfect companion during long travels and rides.

The fun doesn’t end with the on-page activities. They also included a foldout board game!

There are two full pages for the board game.

There are also several Waldo Cards, cut-out playing pieces, and dice cards.

The board contains the “how to’s” of the game, and lists the things that you need to find.

The game can be played by up to 7 players. Just beware of the piranhas and monsters along the way!

The Lost Girl by Anne Ursu ($11.72)

Anne Ursu, author of the National Book Award nominee The Real Boy, returns with a story of the power of fantasy, the limits of love, and the struggles inherent in growing up.

When you’re an identical twinyour story always starts with someone else. For Iris, that means her story starts with Lark.

Iris has always been the grounded, capable, and rational one; Lark has been inventive, dreamy, and brilliant—and from their first moments in the world together, they’ve never left each other’s side. Everyone around them realized early on what the two sisters already knew: they had better outcomes when they were together.

When fifth grade arrives, however, it’s decided that Iris and Lark should be split into different classrooms, and something breaks in them both.

Iris is no longer so confident; Lark retreats into herself as she deals with challenges at school. And at the same time, something strange is happening in the city around them, things both great and small going missing without a trace.

As Iris begins to understand that anything can be lost in the blink of an eye, she decides it’s up to her to find a way to keep her sister safe.

Here’s the small card that contains the author’s signature!

Another card bears a note from the author telling us how excited she is that her book is featured in this box!

The twin sisters Iris and Lark are looking great on the book cover.

Aside from the story, there’s also a maze book that’s included.

It’s another activity that will keep the kids busy that is related to the story that they’re about to explore!

The kids worked on with the maze first, and now they’re ready for the story.

The back of the book features some good reviews that will definitely get us ready to delve into the story.

The book is for ages 8 to 12. My 10 year old dug in and wouldn’t let it go until she finished!

The book is all text, which means that the kids have to use their imagination and creative minds in picturing the scenes of the story.

The book is beautifully written, and there are lots of life lessons that the kids can learn about finding yourself – even if you’re aren’t a twin!

The March OwlCrate Jr. looks interesting with those beautiful singing birds!

The book looks promising, as it is described as quirky and heartwarming!

This box certainly got us lost in a beautiful story. The story is engaging, and just we love how it goes from changes to finding something really valuable. We love every inclusion in this box, including the Where’s Waldo? Games on the Go. My kids love doing puzzles and board games, so it’s the perfect activity book for them. Getting this box is always a new and enjoyable experience for every one of us! Can’t wait for next month!
