February’s OwlCrate theme is Whimsical Beasts. The boxes always come packed full with the info cards right on top so you get the them as soon as you open the box.

OwlCrate always has the best info card prints. One side is a print representing the theme and the other side is the information for the box contents.

The information card tells a little bit about all the items in this month’s box along with little comments on why they were selected or other fun tidbits. The theme follows through even with the info. It is always decorated to go along with that month.

Everything in my February OwlCrate box.

Every month the book comes in a plastic sleeve to protect it in travel.

There is a sticker on the outside of the back letting us know that it is exclusive. I peel this sticker off and place it on the inner sleeve of the jacket.

The booklet includes a comparison of the OwlCrate cover to the Regular cover!

Crown of Feathers by Nicki Pau Preto ($13.51) – When I started reading about this one I was getting full on Mulan vibes. I’m all about a fierce female warrior and take that with a mix of family drama and I can’t wait to dive in.

An Ember in the Ashes meets Three Dark Crowns in this lush debut fantasy novel about a girl who disguises herself as a boy to join a secret group of warriors that ride phoenixes into battle.

I had a sister, once…

In a world ruled by fierce warrior queens, a grand empire was built upon the backs of Phoenix Riders—legendary heroes who soared through the sky on wings of fire—until a war between two sisters ripped it all apart.

I promised her the throne would not come between us.

Sixteen years later, Veronyka is a war orphan who dreams of becoming a Phoenix Rider from the stories of old. After a shocking betrayal from her controlling sister, Veronyka strikes out alone to find the Riders—even if that means disguising herself as a boy to join their ranks.

But it is a fact of life that one must kill or be killed. Rule or be ruled.

Just as Veronyka finally feels like she belongs, her sister turns up and reveals a tangled web of lies between them that will change everything. And meanwhile, the new empire has learned of the Riders’ return and intends to destroy them once and for all.

Sometimes the title of queen is given. Sometimes it must be taken.

Crown of Feathers is an epic fantasy about love’s incredible power to save—or to destroy. Interspersed throughout is the story of Avalkyra Ashfire, the last Rider queen, who would rather see her empire burn than fall into her sister’s hands.

The book also came with a note from the author  and a feather bookmark and the book is signed by the author!

Check out these pages! They are stained in a stunning purple!  Purple is my all time favorite color and it looks amazing on these pages. I almost want to put this book backwards on my shelf so I can see the color.

Even when opened you can see the purple peaking through the pages.

I really can’t wait to dive into this book and see what they inserts are. There are multiple through the book when I flip through.  What a great change of pace when reading.

Spirited Away inspired Keychain – This keychain was designed exclusively for OwlCrate by Four Seasons Fox and will help you from loosing your keys. Since I currently have a missing set of keys I could have used this awhile ago.

There is a great hang to this keychain. Take the chain with the detail of Haku and you are set to go.

The back of the insert is so cute. I like that it’s not just a generic insert and actually gives me the information on the keychain.

Harry Potter Beasts inspired Travel Umbrella – Since they are calling for rain for the next week here I can’t wait to use my umbrella illustrated by Anne Lambelet. The umbrella shows many of the beloved beasts from the Harry Potter series and as a huge Harry Potter fan I was flipping out when opening this up.

It’s a great personal size umbrella. Not to huge but not so small that it won’t do any good.

Just check out the illustrations on here! They are so stunning. I’m actually giddy looking at this and thinking of how much I love it.

Pixie Dust Gem Soap – Are you ready to fly off to Neverland? Here’s a soap handmade and carved bu Leeloo Snaps that will get you there right away.

Just check out the rich emerald color. It is so clear but also has such a rich and vibrant shade. It will be a fun addition to my guest bath.

Accio Books Beanie – Could there be a better saying for a book box? We always are hunting and looking for the next best book.  This beanie was designed by Team OwlCrate and Michelle Gray.

The little OwlCrate Owl on the lip is so cute.  Another purple item which you know I love and the inspiration of the magical unicorns from Harry Potter is a match made in heaven.

The Tea Dragon Society by Katie O’Neill – An exclusive edition of this graphic novel that teaches the ancient art of caring for Sea Dragons.

The pages are so bright and well printed. Graphic novels are big hits in my house so this will be devoured quickly.

I’m really liking all of the different panel sizes in here.  It is really visually appealing and keeps me on my toes.

Monthly Enamel Pin – This is the second month in the OwlCrate monthly enamel pin collection! Each pin is going to be represented of that month’s theme and will come from all different artists. This month’s pin was designed by Ink and Wonder Designs and let’s us join the ranks of the Phoenix Riders.

The coloring on the Phoenix is so bright and really pops with the other colors on the pin.

The pins are heavy and OwlCrate takes that into account with the double pins.  They will be nice and secure when you add them to whatever you want. I’m thinking of starting a book bag with all of mine.

What a Whimsical box from Owl Crate  this month. I’m always excited when I get items that I’m not expecting an this month the umbrella fits that to a tee.  It is so majestic and fun and I’m still grinning looking at it. With the just above freezing pouring rain we will be having the rest of this week I’ll be in my new beanie under my umbrella whenever I have to venture outside into the great wide open.
