The theme for the February Birchbox was “Spread the Love”!
The information card gives brief details on each item as well as the price if you were to buy the full size. Keep in mind that Birchbox sends a variety of product combos each month and your box may vary from mine.
My items were packed simply in the box, and what a cute box it is! I reuse my boxes by setting them out on my dresser to corral beauty items, plus they stack nicely in my closet for the overflow items.
Everything in the box! I filled out a profile when I joined so I could let Birchbox know which types of items I would like to receive, plus I selected my skin type, hair type, and other info so they could send products that work for me.
OUAI Haircare Leave-In Conditioner ($4.64) is a spray you apply when you get out of the shower. Just spritz it on and comb through before styling hair. It detangles and helps protect hair from hot tools. It has a musky floral scent that is like perfume for the hair!
Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening And Depuffing Eye Contour Cream ($13) Wow, what a pricey sample, and FYI there isn’t much in the container – 0.1 ounces, which is the sample size, is only about 1/2 of a teaspoon! This was my sample choice for February (the other choices were the Ouai leave-in spray and a Marcelle mascara). Auto Correct is supposed to help protect, depuff, and brighten the area under the eyes. It did nothing to hide the bags under my tired eyes but then only concealor will help my bags look somewhat better. It spread easily and had an herbal scent.
Juara Candlenut Body Creme ($1.58) The candlenut (AKA kukui) is used in Indonesia for cooking but the oil is also used as a moisturizer. Avocado and rice bran oils can also be found in this highly fragranced lotion that has a sweet, nutty floral scent.
Oscar De La Renta Bella Blanca Eau De Parfum ($3.86) I love receiving perfume samples in beauty boxes since it’s a great way to try different scents without having to pay for a full bottle, plus some of the fragrances may not be easy to find in the store.
The fragrance notes were listed inside the accompanying card and include freesia, jasmine, and sandalwood. I was very happy to see that the sample had a spray top for ease of use. To me this is a very feminine white floral that would be lovely for date night and it is pretty strong and long-lasting.
Laura Geller Nude Kisses Lip Hugging Lip Gloss in Bikini Bottom ($21) I was shocked to find a full-sized Laura Geller lip product in my box!
This shade is Bikini Bottom and is described as medium plum. The finish is considered a crème so there isn’t any sparkle in this shade, but of course there is still some shine!
The tip looks pretty cool and I was able to get this moisturizing gloss on my lips easily. I like the color – like my lips, but prettier. It helped them look more full. There was a bit of flavor, like a touch of vanilla frosting.
Here it is swatched!
I am always happy when I receive a variety of products from different categories in my Birchbox! For February I found a body lotion, perfume, lip gloss, eye cream, and hair product, what a great assortment! Plus, a full-sized lip gloss? Wow! My Birchbox had a value of around $44.08, which is just amazing. What a great month!
