The items are wrapped in blue glittered tissue paper. I can feel this is going to be magical!
Yes! I’m so excited about the items this month. Those orange squiggles are popping!
This month’s theme is our HAPPY PLACE!
Every month they feature an artist spotlight! For this month, all eyes on Brian Rechenmacher.
What can be more exciting than to reminisce about the happiest place on earth?
Everything in my January 2019 Betty Boomerang box!
Clock Face Tumbler ($9.99) I immediately got the reference and made me giddy when I saw this cup! This is a simple, transparent double wall acrylic cup perfect for hot and cold beverages. It can approximately hold up to 2 glasses worth of beverage which is cool if you like to hydrate a lot! It’s practical to use and won’t spill because of the threaded lid and no messing up lipsticks because of the soft straw! There’s a small card that indicates its features.
I love that it brought back the kid at heart in me. It will be my go-to cup from now on!
It looks familiar, right? Well, this is the face of the clock from It’s a Small World water-based ride in Fantasyland area of Disneyland!
Studio 1955 Pin ($5.99) Commutingis always a hassle but not in the happiest place on earth! The monorail has always been their signature travel mode and an exciting experience. You get to enjoy the view as you travel from station to station. It’s a very convenient way to explore different parts of the magical park.
The enamel pin is simple but I love it! It is well-made with great detail quality. I’m happy that I can add this to my pin collection.
Circa 1955 Candle – We Wants The Redhead ($8) This candle is an ode to the days of yore. And it smells exactly like the ride, like smoke and brimstone!
“We wants the redhead” is a nod to the auction role play in the Pirates of the Carribean ride. It’s a good thing to relax and transport yourselves into the fantasy as you light this candle up. For the record, I’m 100% ok with the changes to the ride, but this candle was still fun and funny!
Umbrella by Brian Rechenmacher ($30) This is a manual umbrella with the modern design by Brian Rechenmacher inspired by the rides in the Disneyland park. It has a sleeve sporting the same design.
It follows a blue, white, purple and pink color scheme. All the framework and handle are black. You can see the beautiful design from inside.
This is like an explosion of nostalgia, magic, and fairytale in one umbrella.
So what’s your favorite ride? I’m more of a chill rider than a thrill seeker but in the end, it doesn’t matter, we make the most out of the experience while we are there.
These are the versions of Space mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad of the featured artist, Brian Rechenmacher. I love that his illustrations are more of combinations of big shapes than go into detail.
It’s a lightweight, normal sized umbrella so it’s very handy to bring on trips.
So I walked over while my husband was taking pictures of this box and kind of made a gurgling/scream excited sound and died of glee just at the cup. I saw everything else and made more sounds and highly embarrassed myself. Most MCM fans have a classic Disney fetish and I’m right up there. This box was perfect! This definitely made me happy and triggered a lot of great memories. This box is worth it. I think this curation, though simple, achieved the purpose of the subscription, which is to bring out the retro vibe, put a modern spin on it and applied to random things we always use to keep the memory alive.
