Storybook Cosmetics Book Club is a monthly makeup subscription that sends makeup that is packaged and themed as a classic novel! Each month will have a different theme and will always be in a limited edition mini Storybook Palette with a custom matching bookmark that features a high-quality full-sized liquid lipstick or gloss, and 3 full-sized eyeshadows. Subscriptions start at $24.99 per month plus shipping.
FYI – this subscription was slated to begin in August, but boxes were not received until December. Currently this subscription does not have the manufacturing capacity to ship monthly and subscriptions are being renewed when they are certain they can ship the next month. They’ll know in the next few days whether or not the next box will be in February or March.

Storybook Cosmetics Little Women by Louisa M. Alcott ($24.99) The packaging looks like it came out from the library! It’s a truly nice idea to combine novels and makeup. They will never run out of creative ideas in terms of themes and packaging.
Even the illustration made this look like a real book. I like the gold foil details.
There’s a fairytale blurb at the back cover.
They featured earthy tones in this palette just like the color scheme of the cover. I love that it has a big mirror on the side. The pans were big and the liquid lipstick fits snug in the packaging.
There are two matte shades which are Meg and Beth, while the last one is a shimmer shade which is named Amy. The matte liquid lip’s color is like a matte version of Amy. I can do multiple looks with these.
I love the color as it can be my go-to shade and it suits me really well. It’s very pigmented and applies on full coverage with a minimal swipe at the lips.
The wand applicator is soft and makes it easier to apply the lipstick precisely.
The swatch of the lipstick is really pigmented and creamy as opposed to the streaky and patchy eye shadows. They’re not that pigmented either. I wish I’d taken a photo of my fingertips, which were awesome – I feel like the swatches definitely don’t do the palette justice, although we did swatch using our standard techniques. They are light and wearable, but will work best with a good primer.

All products are made in the USA and cruelty-free! This subscription is so cute and a keeper for makeup collectors and bookworms alike. The formula of the eyeshadows could be improved. I like the creativity and the effort that had been put to this box but I also think the subscription is expensive for the items included. I know we’re loving it just for the decor – I wish the inner insert wasn’t adhered so strongly to the inside so we could remove it easily to reuse the packaging!
