nmnl is a monthly beauty subscription box by the brains behind Tokyo Treat and Yume Twins. This is the new and improved nmnl! For the last few years since their launch, they have only included Japanese beauty brands but have taken subscriber wishes into consideration and have redesigned it to feature both Japanese and Korean beauty!

DEAL: Use coupon code HELLOSUBS at checkout to save 10% ($3.50) on your first box!

The items were wrapped in pink tissue paper.

The booklet has also been redesigned and features the same content as before, from box contents to contests and photo features.

G9Skin Milk Bomb Mask ($1.95) — The design of these masks remind me of the A’Pieu milk masks, and these are similar in ingredients. Milk contains lactic acid, which is a gentle exfoliant.

Rainbow Cotton Balls ($2.39) — O. M. G. I absolutely flipped out when I saw these. I love anything cute and rainbow and OH MY GOD THESE ARE SO CUTE!

The packaging is so clever! You tear open the bottom but it has a drawstring closure built inside. Look at how cute these are!

Each puff has a small indent in it.

You can wear it on your finger for more precise control to remove makeup, nail polish, or apply your favourite toner or essence.

Close it back up for easy storage!

Flower Puff — What a romantic looking powder puff! I love how cute this looks, and will display it on my vanity!

The opposite side is very soft and smooth. I don’t use foundation but I can use this to apply cream blush and highlighter easily.

Pelican Chocolate Soap ($2.74) — Pelican is one of Japan’s most popular soap companies, and I have a big collection of cutely packaged soaps I love to gift as gifts. This is a yummy chocolate-scented soap!

Now on to the makeup items! I love the packaging of Japanese products — it’s always so trendy and cute.

Sweets Sweets Sparkling Eye Gloss ($11) — Sweets Sweets is a sister brand to popular Canmake. Canmake is a cruelty-free Japanese beauty brand so I am hoping Sweets-Sweets is as well! The eye gloss is a shimmery neutral colour which is great as it will flatter most skin tones. I would like to create an eye look with this as a base and them some darker shading in the crease. I think it’ll look great!

Crayon Touch Me Lip Gloss — A sheer orange sparkly gloss. I was worried this would be too bright but it is very sheer and has a nice glitter to it. Swatches below!

Tonymoly Brow Pencil ($1.30) — Tonymoly has great cheap makeup products that work REALLY well! I’m always surprised by the quality. This is a brow pencil with a very fine point and a spoolie at the other end to comb unruly brows. I was able to fill my brows in easily and the colour worked quite well for me.

Swatches of the lipgloss, eye colour, and brow pencil.

Fascy Moisture Bomb Hand Cream — A kawaii bottle of hand cream with an adorable design. It is strawberry scented and quite lightweight!

The value of the February box was a bit lower than the strong January box, but I found myself so excited about everything, from the cute RAINBOW cotton balls to the yummy chocolate soap and other goodies.

Maybe it’s not a really upgrade I think.
