This was my first box from Whistling Kettle!

Start by deciding which option you want. I love tea and it’s all good to me, but I went for the Discovery Tea of the Month Club!

Includes all categories of tea, flavored and unflavored

I received a card.

The back of the card listed my tea club name, the flavors I received for November, and flavor profiles for each tea.

I think I received this card because it’s my first box!

I love tea, all types of tea, and couldn’t wait to get started!

Everything in my box!

Whistling Kettle Baked Apple Pie ($3) “Ah! The smell of an apple pie just out of the oven.  Skip the guilt and enjoy warm apple pie spices with the benefits of green tea. Warning – intense aroma might invite question about where the real apple pie is!”

This was the biggest bag of tea sent this month, and it was absolutely delicious! Green tea, apple pieces, and natural flavors make this smell good and taste even better. I had a cinnamon stick maple honey “spoon” that I stirred into the tea and it sweetened up and passed for an afternoon snack.

Whistling Kettle Organic Darjeeling Oolong ($5) “This Darjeeling Oolong uses only top quality trees, plucked in small quantities and processed by hand. It has a shiny, bronze colored infusion with  muscatel and wood notes. Large leaves, silvery tips and broad palette of colors is the tea equivalent to the fine stitching and craftsmanship of a luxury automobile. Give it a test drive today!”

Oolong is somewhere on the spectrum between green tea and black, but this one was closer to a black tea, but with less astringency. It also had a floral note and made for a good afternoon cuppa.

Whistling Kettle Raspberry Brownie ($3) “All the flavors of a freshly baked brownie drizzled with warm raspberries. Best of all you do not have to wait long for these brownies.. simply scoop, steep and enjoy. Pair with a piece of chocolate or ice cream.”

The instructions said to use 1-2 teaspoons of tea so I decided to use 1 1/2 tsp and the flavor was good, very fruity and uplifting. I added sugar and milk and it was like drinking dessert.

Whistling Kettle Lemon Souffle ($3) “If you like Italian lemon ice, lemon curd, lemon meringue pie or creamy lemon things in general then you’re pretty much a shoo-in for this caffeine free delight. Enjoy it hot or iced – it has just the right combination of lemon and cream but without the calories and no baking required!”

Rooibos makes for a hearty herbal tea and I enjoyed this one in the evening since it’s caffeine-free. It was so delicious, plus I loved the smell coming out of the cup.

Whistling Kettle Golden Starfruit ($3) “Meet the starfruit. It’s exotic. It’s radiant. It’s delicious. We pair it with papaya and mango to form a tropical flavor trifecta. Ice it up for the ultimate summertime thirst quencher.”

There was so much fruity goodness in this cup that it was almost a fruit tea, but there was a touch of that tannic tang (and caffeine) from the green tea. As you can see in the picture, there were actual whole slices of starfruit in the tea! There was also mango, orange peel, and safflower petals. It was very nice and a light refresher for the afternoon.

The Whistling Kettle Reuseablili Tea Bag ($4.99) Your first shipment will come with a silicone reusable tea “bag”.

It is made of food-safe silicone and is washable.

There are lots of ways to steep loose leaf tea. There are strainers, disposable bags, special tea steepers, and you may even use a French press.

I was well pleased with my first ever box from The Whistling Kettle! I love tea, all kinds of tea, and this box helped me indulge in a variety of flavors, tea types, and caffeine levels. There was something in here for all times of the day, and even one for the evening. The flavors were unique and not fake or overly strong. They even sent a tea steeper that can be reused again and again. The presentation was simple yet colorful and I was so excited that I got to try this tea subscription service!
