Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box that brings only the best and exclusive Sephora beauty and makeup samples. The subscription costs $10 per month, and you’ll get 5 deluxe beauty products, playlists, a fragrance bonus item, plus coupons you can use when you visit in-store.
If I see the black and white stripes, Sephora box is here!
Your subscription also entitles you to PLAY! Date meetups if your store participates. I don’t even have a Sephora (not even a JCP one) but this box totally excites me even without those experiences. I love the high-end brands every month for just $10.
Everything is in the transparent red plastic pouch as usual.
The info card has a really cute illustration of this month’s theme and a lot of helpful tips on skin care and makeup. Plus a reminder that you can now use your Play! Pass online! That little card is a PLAY! Pass that will get you 50 extra Beauty Insider points with a purchase from the box, in-store or online. You can also get a complimentary mini makeover!
This survival pocket guide is preparing us for the holiday cheer and festivities!
This month’s theme is Cheers To Beauty!
This fold-out poster shows a list of all the items included in this box plus beauty trivia and tips. You can access all of the information and also watch the videos right on the Sephora site or use the app to scan the sheet for more info!
Love the caption! This is different from the pouches we had in the past. It’s more handy and useful. It is more convenient to put in a bag as it doesn’t take as much space and it’s reusable because of its resealable opening (and it’s totally recyclable they said too!).
The pouch is really cute and playful! The design is vibrant and see-through at the same time. So you can have a subtle peek on the contents without the need to open it.
They are all in travel-sized packaging.
Everything in my box (variation #342)! See the spoilers for all the variations here. Your box could vary – it’s built off your profile!
Sephora Rouge Gel Lip Liner ($6) It’s a long-lasting lip liner to enhance lip contour with a gel-cream finish.
It is formulated without parabens. I love the shade that they gave to me named Nothin’ But Nude, as it is a good base color for any lipstick.
This liner is available in 40 shades.
It is softer than a traditional liner that has a unique non-drying formula that glides over the curve easily that creates a fuller and more plump lips.
Trestique Lip Glaze in Paris Pink ($21.87) Wow, they really want us to try a lot of lippies this month. This one is a two-in-one lip duo primer and color. It glides on smoothly and vibrantly to lips and can last all day. It is formulated without parabens and phthalates.
Pull the cap off (don’t be fooled, Trestique caps look like product) and you can see the second side which is the color glaze. It glides on with a balmy finish and leaves a shiny lasting stain. It is also infused with hydrating coconut oil.
Too Faced Primed & Peachy Cooling Matte Perfecting Primer ($4.25) A small amount of this lightweight primer is enough for a cooling and mattifying effect that brightens and blurs complexion. You can blend this with your fingers or a brush and don’t worry about the peach tint as it disappears after it is fully blended. Also, it doesn’t contain parabens, sulfates or phthalates.
Lancome Hydra Zen Gel-Creme Hydrant Anti-Stress Moisturizing Cream ($4.80) Packed with rosa gallica flower extract and salicylic acid, this cream treats dry skin by providing intense hydration. It’s oil-free and has a gel-cream texture that easily sinks into your skin.
Upon application, it makes my skin feel smooth and nourished. The formula also protects the skin from the harmful effects of the environment and gives a radiant complexion with increased luminosity. It soothes redness and irritations as well. Unfortunately it’s extremely fragranced, so I didn’t like using it.
Verb Ghost Oil Smoothing Moringa Blend + Weightless Hair Oil ($4.56) This oil helps restore and revitalize the hair while naturally controlling frizz and flyaways. It moisturizes, detangles, and smooths the hair with the help of moringa seed oil, bamboo extract, hydrolyzed soy protein, and vitamin F. It’s lightweight and doesn’t alter color in light hair.
Lancome Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover ($4.41) A gentle, liquid eye makeup remover that activates when shaken to remove even the most stubborn and waterproof eye makeup while conditioning and refreshing the skin. It is ideal for sensitive skin that it leaves the eyes cool and relaxed without the oily residue. It is also contact lenses safe and ophthalmologist tested. Just saturate a cotton swab to use even when you try to correct applied makeup.
So how far can your $10 go? About $46 in goodies from Sephora! This is such a good subscription if you want to pick up the best, or the most raved about products that are available at Sephora. I also loved that they have a good balance of makeup and skin care products to try out in the box. You don’t need to spend as much and you have a good idea on what to buy in full size.
