The Home Detox Box is a bi-monthly subscription box that helps you discover toxin-free home and personal care products that are designed to help you gradually refresh your home with safe and natural items, featuring new companies each month. There are two versions to choose from: The Deluxe Box is $54.95 and promises a value of $70+; The Mini is $24.95 and will have a value of $50+. The Mini focuses on beauty items. Here’s what you should expect with The Deluxe, which I am reviewing today:

The Home Detox Box is a bi-monthly subscription box containing toxin-free and cruelty-free products focused on the home, self-care, and eco-friendly lifestyle products. Items may include safe house cleaners, skin care, hair care, dental care, eco-friendly alternatives to plastics, or essential oils.

DEAL: Get 10% off your first box! Use coupon code HELLO10.

I received an insert with info on my box.

The sheet described each product and gave coupon codes for some of the vendors.

Don’t forget to recycle your box!

My items were tucked into shredded paper squiggles.

Everything in my box!

Freewheelin’ Market Beeswax Wrap Set ($14.66) I usually store items in plastic or glass containers with lids but occasionally I use plastic wrap and I think this is supposed to eliminate the need for that product.

The material is coated with beeswax, pine resin, and jojoba oil. Do not use with raw meat as these can only be cleaned with cold water and dish soap, hot water will melt the coating.

I received two sizes: 10″ x 10″ and 8″ x 8″.

The bees are so cute! There are a few other prints online and they are all adorable.

You can sort of see the coating here. The wraps have a pleasant scent and can be used to wrap sandwiches, cheese, etc.

Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Throat Spray ($12.49) Hmm, this is an interesting product and it certainly is a sweet one to try!

It is used as a dietary supplement that proponents say may help fight infection and boost the immune system. Just spray into your mouth or onto cereal, into a smoothie, etc. Please note that this is not recommended for pregnant or lactating women.

Propolis is made of bee saliva, beeswax, and other substances bees pick up on their daily journey, such as tree resins and flower pollen. I sprayed it directly into my mouth and it tasted like watered down honey. I don’t know if it will actually do anything but since I’ve already had two back-to-back colds (I work with children so no surprise there) then I am happy to give it a try!

Peace On Po Skin Balm in Charlie Chapper ($16) My skin is already seeing the effects of cold, dry winter air (yes I know it’s fall but Texas skipped ahead a bit). This is an easy peasy way to combat those dry, scaly patches that show up here and there.

Just roll it wherever you need it. It is super simple to use. If you are pregnant or nursing, or have a medical condition such as a skin problem that’s more than just from the weather, then make sure to consult your doctor before using.

The ingredients are pretty darn natural, with a base of shea butter and beeswax plus other oils, some of which have been infused with flowers or plants.

Just push up from the bottom of the container to expose more product. There wasn’t really a scent and I am very happy to have this for the coming months!

Effuse Candles Coconut Wax Blend Candle in Pomander ($28) Ooh, a candle with its own sack!

This candle is made with a blend of mostly coconut wax (90%) with a bit of soy and palm wax (5% each). The scent is provided by essential oils including orange, bergamot, clove, and frankincense.

The wick is wooden and this candle should burn for around 65 hours.

Meliora Cleaning Products Gentle Home Cleaning Scrub in Peppermint Tea Tree ($6.99) I love the smell of peppermint and now I might even look forward to cleaning if I know my house is going to smell minty fresh afterwards!

The ingredients are just baking soda, vegetable-based soap, and peppermint + tea tree essential oils. Sprinkle onto a wet surface (test first, baking soda can be scratchy!), rub, and then rinse.

I tried it out on my kitchen sink. Some of the particles never melted all the way, maybe they would if I used hot water. The scent was amazing, I’ve never had a cleanser that smelled good enough to eat!

I was very impressed with my first ever Home Detox Box! I try to be responsible and use green products but these were all new to me! I like that there was a beauty/body item, a cleaning product, a home care item, a relaxing candle, and a health item. Each product was very “clean” and non-toxic and I feel good about using them on myself, my family, and around my home. The value was around $78.14, well over the price paid for the box and above the promised value of $70+. I don’t know that I would have found these products on my own (all but one brand was new-to-me) and I am super pleased with the quality and effectiveness of each one.
