Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box that brings only the best and exclusive Sephora beauty and makeup samples. The subscription costs $10 per month, and you’ll get 5 deluxe beauty products, playlists, a fragrance bonus item, plus coupons you can use when you visit in-store.

Your subscription also entitles you to PLAY! Date meetups if your store participates. I don’t even have a Sephora (not even a JCP one) but this box totally excites me even without those experiences. I love the high-end brands every month for just $10.

Love the caption! This is different from the pouches we had in the past. It’s more handy and useful. It is more convenient to put in a bag as it doesn’t take as much space and it’s reusable because of its resealable opening (and it’s totally recyclable they said too!).

The pouch is really cute and playful! The design is vibrant and see-through at the same time. So you can have a subtle peek on the contents without the need to open it.

That little card is a PLAY! Pass that will get you 50 extra Beauty Insider points with a purchase from the box, in-store or online. You can also get a complimentary mini makeover!

The info card has a really cute illustration of this month’s theme and a lot of helpful tips on skin care and makeup.

This month’s theme is Scary-Good Beauty!

This fold-out poster shows a list of all the items included in this box plus beauty trivia and tips. You can access all of the information and also watch the videos right on the Sephora site or use the app to scan the sheet for more info!

Everything in my box! See the spoilers for all the variations here.

Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray ($4) It’s a bummer when makeup melts easily after a few hours of being out and about. Setting sprays like this is helpful in prolonging make-up, and the best thing about Urban Decay’s setting spray is that it’s weightless.

It’s ideal for all skin types, and it does not contain oil aord parabens. Even the packaging is worth talking about because it produces a very light mist that does not make your skin feel sticky.

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow + Volumizing Eyebrow Gel ($8) This volumizing eyebrow gel that is equipped with tiny microfibers that can adhere to your skin as well as hair so that your eyebrows will look naturally full and well defined.

Anastasia Stick Foundation in Banana ($5.46) Stick foundation is a handy make-up item for those who are always on the go. This one provides you with more control with regards to the coverage of your foundation. It easily stays in place and can be used even when you have combination or oily skin. What I like best about this stick foundation is that it works as a concealer, contouring, and highlighter too!

First Aid Beauty Coconut Water Cream ($6.80) Made with coconut water, this cream helps recharge your skin with moisture for a softer feel and a smoother look.  It’s oil-free and noncomedogenic, which means it won’t clog your pores. It works well under makeup and doesn’t feel heavy at all.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum ($26.07) I love multitasking skin care products, like this serum which helps treat uneven skin tone, uneven texture, dullness, and dryness all at the same time. Its main ingredient is viniferine, a natural ingredient which claims to be more effective at brightening than vitamin C. It’s lightweight and it works well under makeup too. The smell is great, thanks to mint, caraway, and galbamum. Plus this sample is $$$!

Kat Von D Saint + Sinner Eau de Parfum ($6.47) This scent looks promising from the packaging itself. Kat Von D is well-known for her alluring and sultry products. I can’t wait to test these two!

Saint is a dreamy and romantic scent that is perfect for everyday use, while Sinner is a strong, sultry, and dark scent.

You can layer them or wear them one by one. Either way, both are amazingly good!

This month’s picks from Play By Sephora included moisturizing skin care products and make-up must haves. I love the radiance serum as it definitely helped me correct my skin’s condition, while the setting spray from Urban Decay made sure that my makeup remains intact throughout the day. The stick foundation was heaven sent especially for my type of skin. As for Kat Von D’s perfume, I am loving both the scents so it’s hard to choose which one is my favorite! Sephora definitely made my day with their October box. I can’t wait to see what ’s next! Plus, this was one of the highest (the highest?) value boxes I’ve ever received from Sephora Play – nearly $57 in value!
