This is a review of the original box.

Everything in my box!

Every month, they send a super cute tea postcard! This one was my favorite, I think I might display it on my desk.

Turns out it had a message on the back announcing that Amoda now has a new logo.

Here’s the list of this month’s teas! I love trying new teas and Amoda always sends the most interesting seasonal flavors!

I received some disposable paper filters to steep my tea, or you can use a strainer, French press, or other methods.

All of my teas!

JusTea Cacao Purple Tea is called “Purple Chocolate” on the JusTea website but it has the same ingredients – cacao shells, purple tea, and rose petals.

I didn’t get much flavor with this tea, it was very light and I didn’t add sugar or milk, they would have overwhelmed this delicate cup.

St. Fiacre’s Farm Opal Creek Orange Spice Tea is a lower caffeine choice since it is made with oolong so I tried it in the early afternoon.

Look at those lovely colors! Oolong, orange peel, cinnamon, clove, marigold, calendula, and orange extract are the ingredients and they are all organic. This tea reminded me a bit of a fall pie, and it was light with orange and spice flavor. It had no bitterness but was earthy.

New Moon Tea Co. Sunrise To Sunset had a tea I wasn’t familiar with: hojicha, which is pan roasted over fire, unlike the usual steamed tea leaves.

A few herbs and spices plus lemon rounded out the flavors of this tea. I thought it tasted a bit smoky and had a spicy note. The caffeine level is supposed to be low due to the way the hojicha is processed, as it removes most of the caffeine.

New Moon Tea Co. Lemon Ginger Tulsi is an herbal blend and I enjoyed it on a cool evening. Tulsi is also known as Holy Basil and there are 4 different types – 3 of them are in this blend! Ginger, lemongrass, and lemon peel round out the mix.

I have tried tulsi teas in the past and it reminds me of a low voltage mint. I liked the flavor, the lemon notes were laid back and I couldn’t really taste the ginger. This was a great tea for helping me feel mellow before bed.

I always enjoy the flavored teas in my monthly Amoda Tea subscription! They send combinations that I have never tried before and that are sometimes bold, sometimes mellow. I was happy to have some lower caffeine levels this month so I could enjoy my teas on cool fall evenings. I just discovered that you can find the teas on the Amoda website, including the ones found in this review! Check them out, or discover some other blends and single leaf teas for your taste buds!
