Menlo Club, formerly Five Four Club, is a men’s clothing monthly subscription club – sign up, pick a style profile and your sizes, and get clothes every month. The subscription is a $60 flat monthly fee, and traditionally subscribers receive a variable number of items each month, depending on the value of the month’s selections (months with several items usually include a tee-shirt or other lower value item). This subscription ships at the end of the month.

The items arrived wrapped in black tissue inside a Tyvek envelope.

Everything in this month’s box! Only two items this month, since one was a stellar jacket!

A calendar of Menlo Club’s offerings per month. This schedule provides a balanced wardrobe replenishment through the course of the year. The Menlo Club subscriptions will include Five Four clothing, shoes from the New Republic footwear line made in collaboration with Mark McNairy, and the Grand AC athletic and leisure wear line. New Republic and Grand AC items each will be featured two months of the year, with Five Four selections appearing in the remaining eight months. Read all about the changes here.

Five Four Munro Tee. Striped tees are a classic! It’s perfect for casual wear and can be paired with shorts, denims, or whatever bottoms you have in mind. For this month, I got these cyan and black stripes on a white tee with the lines quite thin to create breaks on the white background.

I love the way they added a couple dark line, because they pop from the white background and really set off the cyan ones.

Five Four Burnaby Navy Jacket. This varsity jacket has a zippered front and pockets on the front. I like that this jacket can be worn any time and paired with whatever top you have in mind. It’s comfy and it does keep me warm too. It’s billed as navy, and it looks like a very dark blue in this picture, but my impression in person was that the jacket is straight up black.

The stripes on the cuffs and hems complete the varsity / baseball jacket look. I like that the logo of Five Four is not so blatant here.

I love zip jackets like this one because you can easily remove them when the temperature goes up. It has cuffed wrists for a snug fit.

The jacket and the striped tee look great together!

Menlo Club’s selection for this month is quite comfortable to wear from the white striped tee to the jacket. I love that you can wear them separately and pair them with your existing wardrobe. I like using Menlo Club as a wardrobe replenishment and enhancement subscription. I don’t have to think about, and I get new pieces to work into my closet every month. The rotation among Five Four, Grand AC, and New Republic items is especially helpful, as I don’t have to mess with my profile preferences, and I still get a good mix of streetwear, lounge/exercise clothes, and cool-looking footwear.
