Koullouna Box is a subscription box, specially made for Lebanon-lovers. We feature 5-6 products made in Lebanon, a mix of food, cultural items, and home decor, along with curated content about each product. We also donate 10% of the revenues monthly to a specific program run by a local Lebanese initiative. The box is $45 a month and shipping is $15.50 worldwide (except France and Lebanon).

DEAL: Get 30% off your first box! Use coupon code HELLOLEB18.

Everything is wrapped in a lovely box with blue tissue.

The box comes with a little booklet that explains where every item comes from. The intiative of the Month is Ouzville.

Ouzville is an initiative aimed at beautifying Ouzai, one of Beirut’s suburbs. You can know more about it here.

Right when you open the box, you are welcome by this lovely print on wood.

The back shows some damage from one of the item that leaked in transit, but the print itself is fine.

The booklet tells us a bit more about the story behind the creator of this wooden poster : Luanatic.

The two next items are SNACKS!

Krikita – Energy Nuts Mix.

This mix is a blend of raw cashews, almonds and raisins. It’s tasty and gives you a nice boost of energy!

Halewe by Mounir Bissat. This is a sugary treat made from a blend of tahini paste (sesame seeds paste), nut butter and sugar.

The lid was broken, and some of the oil leaked inside the box (on the back of the wooden poster), but I still tried it out. It’s quite sweet, but bitter (probably the geranium flavoring?), and it has a crumbly texture, but it’s not hard. I liked it!

More snacks! Mini Sesame bags from Atayeb El Rif cooperative.

And Sunflower Seeds Biscuits. Both are 100% Natural Lebanese ingredients, both 100% delicious.

If you want to know more about The Lebanese Village label by Atayeb El Rif, go check them out.

Newspaper Pen by the Digital Pencil Factory. Two fun pencils made with recycled Lebanese newspaper. They are fun and lightweight.

A postcard by Bouyout Beirut. This is one of the many postcards you could have received in your box by the photographer Joseph Khoury showing facades on the streets of Mar Mikhael and Gemmayzeh. You can see more pictures on their instagram.

Tamarat Stuffed Dates. Lovely dates with nuts.

These are non-traditional confections, gourmet dates.

We’ve received a box of 6 individually wrapped dates.

And they are delicious! I’m usually not a fan of dates, but I will be honest, these may have changed my mind. The almonds were the perfect balance to the sweetness of the dates in this two bites treat. I haven’t tried the other flavors yet, but I’m sure they’ll be lovely.

I really enjoyed my September’s Koullouna box, the “Madineh” box. I like all the treats that I received, especially the stuffed dates. I love that it came with a booklet detailing every items and every Lebanese company or individual behind it. This is the perfect box to discover Lebanon a bite at a time! Really loved it!

I used to stuff dates with almonds back when I was a kid, didn’t realize I was eating a Lebanese treat!
