Allure is a magazine of course and so they produce a mini-magazine with all the featured items in the box.

The magazine lists each product, the MSRP of the full-sized product, and where you can find more.

The magazine also tells you how you can use the products in the box.

My items were packed in the signature glossy red box and were tucked into white paper squiggles. Two of the items were wrapped in plastic to protect contents from leaking.

Everything in the box!

BKR Paris Water Balm ($7.70) is a lip balm from the company that brought us beautiful glass water bottles. I still haven’t received one of those in a subscription box but I’m not giving up hope yet!

This is a sample size but the full-sized product is designed to fit into the lid of the bkr water bottle!

Ingredients were included on a card placed in the bag with the balm.

There is mica so it has a little bit of sparkle but I didn’t have glittery lips. Depending on how much I used it was either very light or if I used too much it reminded me of Vaseline. It has a light rose scent.

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser ($7) is a cleanser that can be used by all skin types and removes makeup and other junk from your skin. I was tired and decided to skip my oil cleanse and this did a good job of removing everything at the end of the day.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream ($6) is also for all skin types and is especially good for those with dryness and redness (that’s me). I thought my skin absorbed it quickly without feeling greasy and I look forward to using it on colder days this fall. If you feel like it’s too heavy for your face you can use it as a hand or body lotion.

Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment ($17.50) This is some expensive stuff since the tube is very tiny! It smells like lemonade and you can apply twice a day and leave on. You can mix it with the Porcelain Slip cleanser and leave on for 1-10 minutes before rinsing for a “flash” facial.

Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara ($10.55) is supposed to lengthen, volumize, and lift for “extreme, dramatic lashes”.

The color is basic Black and the wand looks similar to others I’ve tried. For the most part mascaras do not lengthen my lashes much and the product was kind of clumpy after the first use. It was a good basic mascara.

Caudalie Skin Perfecting Serum ($16.17) is good for normal and acne-prone skin since it has salicylic acid to help remove oil from pores and fight blackheads. Hyaluronic acid is good for keeping skin hydrated while grape seed polyphenols provide antioxidants. It has several plant oils inside and smells like mint. It felt like primer and was a bit tacky on my skin, at least until it dried completely.

Yves Saint Laurent Tatouage Couture Matte Liquid Lip Stain ($18.80) I’m not 100% sure which shade I received, but there is a number 23 on the bottom so I think it’s “Singular Taupe”, a deep nude. Four different colors were sent this month.

I was a little worried at how wet my lips felt after I applied this but it dried after a few moments and my lips didn’t feel as parched as when I use similar products. I ended up loving the color and the formula, and while it didn’t last all day it did stay where it was supposed to be.

Here it is swatched on my arm. The color ended up looking just a bit darker than my natural lip color and it had a scent that reminded me of red wine!

I am so happy with my October Allure Beauty Box! It was heavy on the skincare this month but had two cool makeup items to add some beauty punches. I thought the cleanser worked very well, the moisturizer left my skin soft but not greasy, and the lip stain was the perfect color for me. The other items rounded out the box nicely and of curse the value was there  too – around $83.72! Wow!
