Target Beauty Box comes out once a month and you have to grab them up because they go quickly! Each box is around $7 and this one is still available. Make sure to sign up here to get notified when future boxes go on sale and keep in mind that this is a one-time purchase and not an ongoing subscription.
My products came in a cute box and were wrapped in orange tissue paper. I’m so happy that fall is around the corner and the colors of the box reflect that.
Hello Beauty Reboot! This month is all about products that will help us transition into fall.
The product information card listed the products included in the box and a little info about each item. There was a coupon for a purchase in-store or online to save $3 when you make a $15+ beauty purchase.
Everything in my box! The box was packed full! You may notice that several of the items have a heavy-duty piece of tape around them called “The Gripper.” This is to keep the product from spilling during shipping. You may need a knife or scissors to peel it off of your products.
Schmidt’s Naturals Charcoal Magnesium Deodorant ($1.26) I always get excited when I find a natural/vegan/cruelty-free product in a mainstream beauty box!
Shea butter, coconut oil, and activated charcoal are some of the ingredients in this deodorant. Please note that this is not an antiperspirant – it helps keep pits from being stinky but might not keep them dry. Also, there is baking soda in this formula, which isn’t a problem for me personally but some people find that ingredient to be irritating.
You have to hold this against your armpit for a few seconds before rubbing since this allows your body heat to soften the ingredients so they won’t rub your skin the wrong way. It has a light, pleasant scent with a touch of citrus.
OGX Coconut Miracle Oil Dry Shampoo ($2.44) I know dry shampoos are a popular item with lots of people, namely my older daughter, so I know she will love this one because it smells amazing. I read a tip today that said to blast your hair with a blow dryer to activate the dry shampoo ingredients and add volume. Let me know if you’ve tried this trick and if it works for you!
Nivea 48hr Smoothing Moisture Shea Daily Moisture Body Lotion ($0.73) Temps will be falling soon so now’s a good time to start using lotion if you’ve been slacking lately (yes, I’m talking about myself). The scent with this one was pretty neutral and a little nutty, and it’s been a couple of hours and I can still smell it if I sniff my arm.
Weleda Wild Rose Body Wash ($2.49) is another natural beauty product and is made in Switzerland!
I was a little worried that this would smell like potpourri but it had a light floral fragrance that faded quickly. It was creamy but I felt clean afterward and it rinsed away quickly.
Olay Facal Cleansing Infusion in Crushed Ginger & Citrus ($1.29) Get rid of dry skin with this micro polishing scrub. Try using it twice a week to slough off dead cells and help serums and oils or creams penetrate a bit deeper. It has a gritty texture and smells like citrus.
L’Oreal Paris Voluminous Primer Base ($1.08) I was doubtful that a lash primer would have any effect on my short, stubby lashes but was very surprised to find that the side I used it on really did look better than the one without!
It goes on like white mascara and then you go over it with your usual mascara. I didn’t experience any discomfort or irritation and now I may need to get a larger container of this stuff!
Garnier SkinActive Facial Mist Spray With Rose Water ($0.09) is a skin refresher but this is a tiny sample, I’m not sure that it has more than a few sprays inside.
Close your eyes and spray away to help revive tired skin. I sprayed it on my wrist to test it out and it had a very light scent and evaporated quickly.
I prefer my toners to be alcohol-free. I looked up “denatured alcohol” to see how it is different from rubbing alcohol and it means that ingredients are added to ethanol that make it bitter or poisonous so that people won’t drink it. It started out as a way to avoid having it taxed as a beverage!
I love trying new products and smaller sizes with a low price tag keep me from feeling overwhelmed, plus, I can decide if it’s worth purchasing the full-sized product in the future. I appreciate that Target has started adding natural beauty products to the boxes and I thought the selection this month was varied. The value was around $9.38, which is pretty low, but then again, it is more than the price paid for the box and I feel like the individual prices of the travel sized products in the store would be more expensive. Not counting the incredibly small facial spray, this works out to $1.17 each for the other 6 samples, and I think that seems fair.

@misti, sometimes I eel like there’s a lot of samples I want to try, other times not so many, so I completely understand.
If the L’Oreal primer would of been full size I would of been in on this months box but there was just no wow factor for me first beauty box from Target I skipped. since first learning of it’s existence.
