This box is not available in stores.

The PLAY! SMARTS by Sephora Skincare By Age 40 box is still available!

On the flap of the box are suggestions on what to do with your box.

There’s no extra packaging, after the card you can already see the round mint green pouch!

Yey! Let’s Play!

We are welcomed by this blue envelope.

Inside it are the product cards, and essential information about the online crash course online entitled ‘Skincare By Age 40’!

The crash course will be available on Sephora’s Youtube channel. In case you miss out the live broadcast, you will still be able to access the replay anytime. I wasn’t wowed by this – I would expect this content to be purchaser-only.

50 BI points with in-store purchase!

The reusable disc pouch is so cool!

Everything in my Limited Edition box!

We have our special cards and our 6 lovely loot!

Before I get started, I have to note that I received my first box about a week ago – except 2 products were missing (TWO!) – the Good Genes & the Caudalie. I emailed in that they were missing and was offered a $5.95 credit and was told that the box was sold out (it wasn’t). I wrote back that it was unacceptable and got a notice that a replacement box was shipping. The missing products unfortunately aren’t all that unusual with Sephora boxes, so don’t leave it sitting around – open it right away!

Sunday Riley Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment ($15.80) It’s a highly potent, clarifying purified grade lactic acid that can exfoliate dull, pore-clogging dead skin cells. It’s like a blessing in a tube, balancing our uneven skin texture, dark spots and reduces fine lines and wrinkles.

It is a bonus that it works for all skin types. It is enhanced with licorice and formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.

For a detoxified face, just leave it for a minute to ten. You can apply a small amount to clean skin, under a cream or night oil or a primer to leave your face naturally radiant before putting on makeup.

Caudalie Premier Eye Cream ($33) A de-puffing cream is a quick way to refresh tired eyes. An ideal one can diminish our dark circles and lift our eyes while also reducing fine lines and wrinkles. This cream achieves all of that by combining the firming properties of resveratrol and the brightening properties of viniferine.

The cream has natural pearlizers that are ultra-hydrating and brightening. It just melts into your skin and it can be applied under concealer.

It can be applied whether morning and night to the entire eye area, including the eyelids. If you want a natural highlighting effect, you can also apply it to eyebrows and cheekbones before or after makeup. This is one of my favorite eye creams, so I was thrilled.

Kiehl’s Glow Formula Skin Hydrator ($3.80) I love a lightweight moisturizer! This is a 24-hour moisturizer that helps with skin’s dryness, dullness, and uneven texture which can be more evident in your 40s. It’s an ultimate hydrator that boosts the skin’s radiance from within.

The formula not only leaves the skin glowing but also protects the skin from free radicals, thanks to the 95% naturally derived ingredients like pomegranate extract and illuminating minerals infused in the cream.

Because it is lightweight, you can apply it under makeup or apply before foundation. You can even achieve highlights by applying it to cheekbones or nose as a final touch over makeup.

Volition Beauty Detoxifying Silt Gelee Mask ($15) Another detoxifying (but never drying) product in the box is this nutrient-rich buoyant gel mask that purifies pores and evens skin tone.

It contains a bioactive mineral black silt that removes impurities while leaving the skin moisturized. The mask is vegan, hypoallergenic, and gluten-free. It is also noncomedogenic.

It reduces the size of pores by deeply clearing out dirt and blackheads. It also locks in moisture and controls oil production.

Apply the smooth gel generously while avoiding the eye area. Just leave on for 5 to 10 minutes and use a wet sponge to remove it for mild exfoliation. Apply once to thrice a week as recommended.

Sunday Riley Luna SLeeping Night Oil ($15) If you want to take care of a lot of skin problems with one product, this oil is the answer. It is best paired with Good Genes Lactic Acid that is also included in this box. It has trans-retinoic acid, blue tansy, and soothing german chamomile essential oils. The soothing blue azulene balances and calms the redness and sensitivity.

It boosts the skin and reduces the appearance of pores, fine lines, and wrinkles. It softens and hydrates the skin that prevents age spots, premature aging to a more youthful, luminous skin. It is also formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.

The oil goes from blue to clear when massaged into the skin deeply. That’s when you’ll know that it is working. It should be used directly after cleansing, wait 5 minutes for it to sink in and then you can use other products as well (like Good Genes Lactic Acid.) Because it has retinoids, it is best to use at night.

Tatcha The Water Cream ($6.80) It’s no secret that I love this brand! I’m glad that I got this oil-free and anti-aging water cream. It’s nutrient-rich and balanced hydration clarifies and refines skin without leaving the skin greasy.

The Japanese botanicals like wild rose, Hadase, and leopard lily work together to tighten pores, smooth skin texture, and also restore the healthy-looking radiance of skin.

The formula is non-irritating, noncomedogenic, and not tested on animals. It is formulated without synthetic fragrances, mineral oils, or sulfate detergents. On top of helping our skin, the sale of this product also gives back and helps girls’ education around the world.

Apply a small sized amount onto face and neck with upward strokes morning and evening daily.

An on-point skin care routine can help anyone age gracefully! We have to try a lot of samples just to know what is suitable and which product we are most comfortable with. It’s like building a chemistry or a relationship that can stand the test of time. This box gave us a lot of options that are potent moisturizers and masks, all hydrating and all anti-aging, but not too heavy. It’s convenient to try out the products first hand before committing and buying the full sized version. This skincare routine is more intense than the skincare for 30 years old which is what I expected. I love that they selected similar products from the same lines. This box was pretty fantastic with almost a $100 worth of items including the lovely pouch.

What did you think of the PLAY! SMARTS by Sephora Skincare by Age 40? While supplies last this box is still available for purchase!
