PetGiftBox is a monthly subscription box for dogs or cats. A selection of toys, treats, chews, and accessories are included based on your pet’s size. With each purchase you can earn points to redeem for free boxes and other great goodies. Plus, PetGiftBox donates to various charities and you can designate the one you would like them to support. PetGiftBox costs $29.99 for a monthly subscription, but the price drops for longer subscriptions, as low as $24.99 a month for 12 months. You can also change your subscription every month – maybe you would prefer a MomGiftBox or perhaps you have a dog that needs a box next time around.

I think it’s cute that PetGiftBox uses themed paper to wrap the items!

August’s box theme was Camping With Class!

There was some brief info on each item at the back of the card.

All the items in my August PetGiftBox!

Cat Dancer Interactive Cat Toy ($2.99) WARNING: I read the instructions before opening this product and it said to open carefully as “it has a lot of energy wound up in it”. I carefully unwrapped the end and it whipped around and pinned me in the forehead, just above my eye. I ended up with a welt and the feeling that it could have been much more serious if it had hit my eye. I would suggest wearing safety goggles or a helmet with eye covering just in case. I know I sound a bit overboard but I truly wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt. Alternatively, you could just throw it in the trash (which is what I did after the pictures). This is basically a wire garrote with a couple of pieces of cardboard tied on.

I’m worried that the cardboard pieces will fall off and my cats will get harmed.

Zoey loved it but then she loves things that dip and move like a bird.

“Oh no, it’s just too far away for me to catch!”

Sunny gets hyper-focused on things sometimes.

Ellie Baba Designs Catnip Smores Cat Toy ($6) I think this toy is one of those ideas that looks cute, and smells attractive, but my cat ripped the end off as soon as she played with it, and then sat there chewing felt. It’s a couple of pieces of felt with catnip in the middle. My cats play to kill I guess.

Here’s Sunny hogging the pillow (shown below) and the s’more.

Nip Stix Natural Feline Dental Floss ($4.99) I have never heard of silver vine before but some people claim it is more stimulating than catnip, although these pieces were packed with catnip. The idea is that a cat will chew on it to clean its teeth.

It’s an actual stick!

Sunny was very interested in the stick. Look, you can see her nose and lip freckles! At least, I think it’s freckles.

Ellie Baba Designs Cat Toy (similar toy here, $3.75) I think this pillow might be an exclusive item, since I couldn’t find a pillow on the vendor’s Etsy page. It has camping-themed cotton fabric, fiberfill, and catnip.

Steel Dog Multi-Unit Pot, Potato, & Carrot Toy ($7.99) So cute, a cooking pot with veggies inside! The veggies are plush with crinkly-sounding material inside.

There is a catnip pocket on the side with a velcro closure. I am sure I have some catnip around here somewhere. I can always use the one from the bag of silver vines.

What’s cooking?

“Hey Sunny, let’s take turns licking our lips. Me first!”

PetGiftBox sends some pretty neat toys, although one of the ones we received this month was really not for me or my cats. I know they enjoyed playing with the teaser but I thought it was best placed in the trash. As for the theme, I thought it was cute and the items matched it very well.
