Gramma in a Box is a monthly subscription for kids (from a real Grandma!) that sends homemade cookies with frosting and sprinkles along with two easy candy crafts to make at least 15-20 edible treats.

A little welcome note from Gramma is included in the box. This month’s box had a Back To School theme.
Flip the card and you’ll find a list of all the items in the box, as well as items you will need from your home. There is a note at the bottom on how your kids can keep things clean while they do this month’s projects.
The box has 3 projects. We are going to do Back-To-School Cookies, Teacher’s Apples, and Wafer Pencils. Each of the cards has step by step instructions with a few images.
All the ingredients are indicated on the back of each card, including potential allergens.
The info card also graced us with these mouth-watering sneak peek images of what we are going to make.
This is the box upon opening! You just have to remember — no snacking on the craft supplies!
Everything in the box!
Overall ingredients that are included in the box: wax paper, popsicle stick, marshmallows, wafer cookies, red and blue sanding sugar, rainbow sprinkles and jimmies, chocolate chips, pretzel rods and candy leaves, assorted theme cookies, package of melting chocolate – vanilla, and tubes of assorted frosting colors.
Wafer Pencils. We started with the simplest activity, which is making pencils out of tasty wafers. The things we need for this activity include wax paper, chocolate chips, red sanding sugar, melting chocolate, and of course wafers!
We spread out the wax papers and divided the task to the kids. We used the melted chocolate as glue and dipped the wafer into the red sanding sugar to create the eraser part. We also used the melted chocolate again for attaching the chocolate chip for a pencil lead.
Look at those pencils! They’re so cute! But wait… there’s more!
Teacher’s Apples. The ingredients for making the Teacher’s Apple are the popsicle stick, marshmallows, the pretzel and candy leaves pack, plus the red sanding sugar from the previous activity.
We pushed the popsicle stick in the middle of the marshmallow and put melted chocolate around it so the red sanding sugar would stick.
After dipping the marshmallow into the red sanding sugar, we removed the popsicle stick and stuck a pretzel on it to make it look like the branch that holds up the apple along with the sweet candy leaves.
These treats look and smell sooooo good!
We can’t wait to munch on them!

The good thing is because we know how to do it now (thanks to Gramma), we can just buy these ingredients at the grocery and make some more.
Back-To-School Cookies. Now for the grand finale, the back-to-school cookies! We have the tubes of frosting, sprinkles, blue sanding sugar, and letter cookies.
For this activity, we went freeform so the kids could unleash their creativity. Cookies get them really focused. They look so serious!
Even my youngest son joined in on the fun!
The frosting turned plain cookies into a visual feast!
We made sure to use a little bit of everything on our cookies, even some of the melting chocolate.
We used some extra candy leaves from the second activity and placed them here, because why not?
The color combinations look good together!
Look what we made with Gramma! Compared to the other activities, the pencil was a little flat, but it did fit the back to school theme. The letter cookies were fun, as the kids get more freedom to do what they want with the cookies. Gramma box uses commonly available ingredients, so we can use the recipes yet again in the future. The crafts are fun and easy to do, and sharing these cute treats with a loved-one would surely make our real Grandmas happy. We look forward to the next box!
