My August Blind Date books, Beauty’s Kingdom by Anne Rice and Curioddity by Paul Jenkins. This month I got two hardback books.

Beauty’s Kingdom by Anne Rice ($24.99)- Anne Rice is a classic author and her books never fail to thrill.  This is the fourth book in a series and I’m a start at the beginning girl so I will probably see if I can grab books one thru three first but this one looks fantastic.

SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, ANNE RICE! The erotic Sleeping Beauty trilogy now continues with a fourth novel by master storyteller and bestselling author of “Prince Lestat, ” Anne Rice, writing as A. N. Roquelaure Mega-bestselling author Annie Rice returns to where she left off in “Beauty’s Release” with the disappearance of Queen Eleanor in Bellavalten. Now, twenty years after they were forced to leave the kingdom to return to their homeland, Beauty and her husband Laurent agree to travel back as its king and queen, to uphold the ways of complete sensual surrender, with a twist: they now insist on “voluntary” servitude in Bellavalten. Countless eager princes, princesses, lords, ladies, and common folk journey to Beauty’s new kingdom where she and her husband awaken their domain, ushering in a new era of desire, longing, and sexual ecstasy. Provocative and stirring, Rice’s imaginative retelling of the Sleeping Beauty myth will be hailed by her longtime fans and new readers of erotica just discovering the novels. This book is intended for mature audiences.

And an added bonus this month is that this book is signed by Anne Rice herself!  I’m a huge reader and book collector and I love signed copies.

Curioddity by Paul Jenkins ($14.84)- This is a bit of a twist. It is not as overly erotica as some of the other books we get but it does delve into the supernatural. I love the mix up of books and the two genres really mesh together for a fun reads.

Will Morgan is a creature of habit―a low-budget insurance detective who walks to and from work with the flow of one-way traffic, and for whom imagination is a thing of the distant past. When a job opportunity enters the frame in the form of the mysterious Mr. Dinsdale―curator of the ever so slightly less-than-impressive Curioddity Museum―Will reluctantly accepts the task of finding a missing box of levity (the opposite of gravity). What he soon learns, however, is that there is another world out there―a world of magic we can only see by learning to un-look at things―and in this world there are people who want to close the Curioddity museum down. With the help of his eccentric new girlfriend Lucy, Will will do everything he can to deliver on his promise to help Mr. Dinsdale keep the Curioddity Museum in business.

Curioddity is Paul Jenkins’ debut novel… exciting, fast-paced, and uncanny. A must-read.

BookCase.Club sends two books each month. It is a great value and a great way to expand my reading habits. I’ve said before but I get stuck in a rut reading the same authors over and over so this is a great way for me to find new to me authors and authors I just haven’t thought of in a while. They send me a combination of paperback and hardback books each month but the value is always there and it saves so much time from me going to a bookstore and reading cover after cover after cover. I can’t wait to revisit Anne Rice and to learn all about some curiosities from Paul Jenkins.
