I love trying new teas and Amoda always sends the most interesting flavors!
Here’s the list of this month’s teas!
All of my teas! They always send paper filters in case you don’t have an infuser but I didn’t see them until I was about to discard the box! A French press or stainless steel infuser or strainer works well too.
New Moon Tea Co Market Fresh Tea I love to relax in the evening with an herbal tea and this one was pleasant and soothing.
Amoda is great about putting steeping instructions on their packages. Ingredients are clearly listed too.
At first, I thought the dried pieces of fruit were cranberries but they’re rose hips, which provides a bit of vitamin C. The blend also has spearmint, red raspberry leaf, lemon balm, and ginger and all of the ingredients are organic. It had a minty flavor and was delicious.
Ilam Valley Gold I prefer to start the day with a basic black tea so I had this one before breakfast but think it would make a lovely afternoon tea too.
It didn’t have much tannic tang and didn’t need much sugar or milk. I used 1 teaspoon as directed and was surprised by all of the lovely flavors in this cup, including an almost nutty and spicy nuance. Sadly I added milk and it watered it down so next time I plan on using 1 1/2 teaspoons of tea, or will just drink it in the afternoon.
Banff Tea Co Vanilla Borealis Tea Although this is listed as a black tea, the first ingredient is rooibos so it turns out pretty light and reminds me of an herbal tea.
I usually think black tea is in need of a good dose of sugar and milk to cover any tannic tones but this one just needed a bit of sugar. This is a tasty tea, with vanilla and an almost nutty flavor.
New Moon Tea Co Green Lemon Tea I don’t usually reach for green tea too often but this blend was just wonderful.
Green tea, spearmint, lemon verbena, lemongrass, and lemon peel went together perfectly and although I was worried when it said to steep for 5 minutes (which can make green tea bitter), I followed the directions and found it to be the perfect cup. Fragrant, tasty, mellow, yet uplifting at the same time!
I think Amoda is a great way to discover new tea blends and brands. I am always happy with the selections sent each month and I enjoy the variety of flavors and caffeine levels. I drink the black in the morning, a green or black in the afternoon, and an herbal in the evenings.
