SnarkBox sends a monthly box of sassy cross stitching projects so you can stitch in b*tchy style. Expect sarcasm and cocky sayings in each of the boxes – these aren’t your grandmother’s craft projects! (Unless your grandmother was saucy, you never know.) SnarkBox donates 5% of all proceeds to Lil Bubs BIG Fund for the ASPCA. All SnarkBox patterns are exclusive for the first month, and are only added to the Etsy shop after the next month’s box is launched.

Both levels of SnarkBox come with an original cross stitch kit and an original printed cross stitch pattern by MyCatHatesYouShop. They also both come with a sticker featuring one of the MyCatHatesYouShop cross stitch designs, or a similar original design. The Total Smart Ass SnarkBox also includes a small cross stitch gift or accessory (such as a needle minder or small project) and an embroidery hoop, backing felt, and finishing instructions for the included kit.

I am reviewing the Total Smart Ass SnarkBox today! (The other version is called the Basic Bitch!) Discounts are available for longer subscriptions. NOTE: Effective with September’s box, the price for the Basic Bitch box will increase to $22 a month.

The box was pretty cool on the outside, go back a picture and check out the crossed needles! I found my items wrapped in tissue paper and sealed with a sticker.

The sticker had the logo on it, the month, and the subscription level.

All of my items were safe in the box!

I found a business card in the box. I also found a note about the pattern and how you may use it for yourself, just don’t copy it and try to sell it or mass produce the projects and sell those either.

I received a sticker, which is based on one of SnarkBox’s patterns. Harry Potter is one of my most favorite characters/books/movies ever!

Everything in my box!

There was a Mini Button Trio based on designs from My Cat Hates You shop.

First up is a Bollocks Counted Cross Stitch Pattern. You should be able to download this from the Etsy site starting in September, and downloads are $4. If you don’t know what bollocks are, just know that they are a part of the male anatomy, but usually the word itself is used in the UK to mean nonsense, or similar to saying WTF or sh$t when something goes wrong.

MEH Counted Cross Stitch Kit Most of the complete kits on the Etsy site are $16-18 each.

The kit includes the pattern with instructions, DMC floss, 14 count Aida cloth, and a needle.

It comes with instructions and care info. No fancy stitching required this month, just standard cross stitches.

The back has the pattern and it is pretty easy to follow.

There was also a hoop included so you can show off your work when it’s complete, but I actually placed my cloth in the frame while working since it keeps the fabric taut.

Here’s about a week’s worth of progress! I am enjoying having something to do with my hands every month besides spending time checking apps on my cell phone. Even though I haven’t been able to complete a project yet, I still get a sense of accomplishment since I have something concrete to look at when I’m done stitching. It is a relaxing pastime and I can forget whatever else is on my mind since I have to stay present to count my stitches.
