Scentbird is a monthly perfume and fragrance decanting subscription. With Scentbird, you get a thirty-day supply of perfume every month – Scentbird takes authentic perfumes and decants them into travel sprayers. There are over 450 fragrances to choose from and Scentbird adds new ones every month! You can save when you purchase a multi-month subscription, or even arrange to receive perfume every other month. Scentbird now offers candles, hand creams, body wash + scrubs, and Deck of Scarlet makeup to choose from, too!

NOTE FROM SCENTBIRDYou may experience shipping delays or partial shipments due to our warehouse move this month. We sincerely apologize and will continue to send updates.

Everything in my box!

When you join you fill out a profile – including three of your favorite designer perfumes – then you make a wish list of perfumes you’d like to try. You’ll get a new sprayer every month, plus your first month includes a case to hold whatever perfume you’re currently using! You can add extra cases to an existing subscription for $12.95. Members receive a $15 credit each month against the purchase of a full-size bottle (note that this credit expires each month).

I picked the types of scents that I like along with a couple of specific fragrances and Scentbird gave me 12 suggestions, although I usually just choose on my own since my fragrance “likes” change frequently. They generally add new scents after the current choice gets locked for the month, so after the 5th you can go on there and see what’s new.

Scentbird has made a few changes. You can try up to 3 fragrances a month, in case you really need to build up your supply, or maybe you prefer one scent for the day, another for the evening, and another for your significant other. They also offer other options, such as a perfume, hand cream, and shower gel combo. Yep, Scentbird now offers an in-house line of body care items, candles, and Deck of Scarlet makeup! They just added even more makeup options too – Ardency Inn, Kat Von D, Tarte, and Trestique.

I received a card with my chosen scent listed.

The back of the card listed the fragrance notes and gave a description of the scent.

Scentbird features a Perfume of the Month – for August it is Amazing Grace by Philosophy.

Philosophy brings us a delightfully feminine perfume made from fresh bergamot, delicate muguet, and comfy, soothing musk. The modern simplicity and warmth in this perfume is indeed a very graceful way to share your beauty with the world.

You can see all the previous Perfumes of the Month at the bottom of the Scent of the Month page. Note that if your wish list is empty you’ll get the scent of the month. You can now get on demand scents, but if you’re a subscriber it’s less expensive to get a new one each month and there’s something to be said about giving yourself time to enjoy your new fragrance for a while.

Your first month will include a little perfume vial case and velvet holder. Scentbird decants the perfume from the manufacturer’s bottle to a little glass vial that fits in the sprayer. The perfumes are 100% authentic and you’ll receive a .27 oz sprayer. A card comes with the vial demonstrating its use. You just twist it to spray!

I received a black velvet bag to hold my case.

New subscribers receive a pearly white case.

I received Raw Spirit Summer Rain Eau De Parfum – ($85 for 1 oz) I went with a scent by indie brand Raw Spirit and which was described as being unisex (niche fragrances frequently are) and sounded good for summer, since it has the word “summer” in its name! I also happen to love rain, and have yet to find a scent that smells like petrichor (the smell of the earth after it rains, it’s your new word of the day in case you didn’t already know!).

The fragrance notes listed kaffir lime, grapefruit, jasmine, vetiver, and orange blossom. It is a citrus aromatic scent and is supposed to have woody and green scents to go with the citrus notes. Upon initial blast, I picked up a soapy, powdery citrus note along with green leaves. I don’t think this smells anything at all like a recently passed rain shower, however, it does remind me of taking a shower – it kind of smells like Irish Spring soap!

Scentbird has a large assortment of scents to choose from so if you are looking to find a new signature scent, or just want to wear something different every month, then you should give them a try. You can also choose from a variety of other products in case you have a backlog of scents. I received my shipment very late, this is my July scent and I received it near the end of August since Scentbird just moved warehouses. I haven’t received tracking yet for my August scent and it’s almost September. My choice for this month had a value of around $22.95.

Suffice it to say that I am extremely unhappy with this service. I would have posted a review on their web page but it does not allow one to. Let me run my story by you …
I joined Scentbird in August of this year. When I first joined I did the $15 membership. That month, although there was pretty slow shipping, went well. I took into consideration that they were apparently “moving” as was advertised on their website.
Nevertheless, because of that I decided to upgrade to the $25 a month plan. This was on September 1st. Scentbird took no time at all yanking that membership upgrade money from my account. Literally, 30 seconds after my upgrade it was taken. I was fine with that, but I had an inquiry. So, I reached out to Customer Service to ask if it would be possible to get my shipment date changed to sooner. It took them 9 days to get back to me. When they did they didn’t even answer my question but instead said that my shipment date was the middle of the month. No specific date. I replied to their response and asked again, “Is it possible to change the shipping date?” 5 days later I got another reply that said, “Oh we are sorry but that isn’t possible. Your shipment date is the middle of the month and you should receive your perfume by the 18th or so.” Needless to say I was not happy with the curt and sort of rude reply but I decided to wait it out.
Here we are on the 25th of September and my shipment has been “Processing” since the 13th. I STILL haven’t gotten my shipment and they took the money out of my account damn near a month ago.
I’ll just say this … They ain’t getting my money every again. The minute that perfume hits my doorstep I am cancelling my service, moving to another provider and telling everyone I know about my crappy experience.
Terrible customer service and terrible shipping! ??
