Each Plowbox contains 5-10 packs of certified organic, non-gmo seeds, appropriate for that season and your climate. Finally, every box contains gifts from our selection of unique, useful products and partner brands. PlowBox is an investment into a healthy lifestyle, and it also makes an excellent gift for the gardener in your life.

The box presentation is always simple and neat.

I did hear a rattling sound in my box and it turned out one of the products had a few seeds rolling around loose inside but it wasn’t a big deal.

Everything in the box!

I found a folded brochure that contained a lot of information.

The note mentions the level of difficulty along with brief growing instructions. I would suggest going to a gardening website for more info on planting.

PlowBox sends only organic, non-GMO seeds. No Frankenfood here! I live in the middle of Texas so I received the box for “Hot” climates but there are around 5 different climates to choose from based on where you live.

I received 7 packets of seeds for my fall garden – 6 vegetables and one herb/flower. These seeds can be found on the Seattle Seed Co.’s page for about $3.25 a bag.

There are growing instructions on the back of most of the packets, with spacing and height listed, plus when you can expect to harvest.

There was a recipe that uses one of the crops I plan to grow, but in the meantime, I can make it with turnips from the store.

Prickly Pear Greeting Card (from the Watercolor Greeting Card Set, 6 cards for $18) PlowBox sends beautiful cards and watercolors are one of the mediums my mom works with, so I plan on sending this card to her, or maybe I will frame it, I love cactus! Blank on the inside, it comes with a white envelope.

If you’re going to be outside for an extended amount of time, then a bandanna might be useful, either for keeping hair out of your eyes, or wiping a sweaty brow, or for brushing dirt off of hands. I’m sure it can be used elsewhere too.

This one is branded with Seattle Seed Co. on the corner. (Never mind, it just came off when I took a closer look!)

In classic navy blue and white, it has paisley swirls all over it. I love paisley, seriously. 100% cotton, and about 21″ square before washing.

Next was a little paper listing some info about cover crops. You could grow this instead of a garden, just plant in the fall and then till it in when it’s late winter or early spring. It adds nutrients to the ground that may be depleted from previous crops.

There was a bag of seeds to use as your cover crop.

The seeds are vetch and rye. This is what was rolling around in the box, making it sound like a baby rattle!

The final product was an introduction to Seed Saving Basics.

The booklet explained things that I had never heard of and was pretty helpful.

Where do you store those saved seeds? Inside Seed Saving Envelopes of course!

The front of the packet gives you plenty of room to write down specifics about the seeds.

The back gives you more room to write notes.

PlowBox helps remind me each season to get out in my garden and connect with the earth, quite literally. I’m looking forward to planting my new seeds, just as soon as the heat lets up here in my neck of the woods. The bandanna and greeting card are nice touches but all the other items are expressly for my garden.

What do you think of this season’s box? Let me know which seeds you received in your box!
