Play! by Sephora is a monthly subscription box that brings only the best and exclusive Sephora beauty and makeup samples. The subscription costs $10 per month, and you’ll get 5 deluxe beauty products, playlists, a fragrance bonus item, plus coupons you can use when you visit in-store.

Your subscription also entitles you to PLAY! Date meetups if your store participates. I don’t even have a Sephora (not even a JCP one) but this box totally excites me even without those experiences. I love the high-end brands every month for just $10.

When you remove all the paper, you are left with this playful pouch from Sephora.

That little card is a PLAY! Pass that will get you 50 extra Beauty Insider points with a purchase from the box, in-store only. You can also get a complimentary mini makeover!

The info card has a really cute illustration of this month’s theme and a lot of helpful tips on skin care and makeup.

This month’s theme is Beauty Schooled!

This fold-out poster shows a list of all the items included in this box plus beauty trivia and tips. You can access all of the information and also watch the videos right on the Sephora site or use the app to scan the sheet for more info!

The pouch is really cute!

Everything in my box! See the spoilers for all the variations here.

Ouai Volume Shampoo ($0.67) This shampoo thoroughly cleanses and adds volume to the hair, while replenishing moisture and keeping your hair healthier. It doesn’t strip hairs’ natural oils as it is free from sulfates, parabens, and phthalates.

Ouai Volume Conditioner ($0.73) To pair with the shampoo is this hydrating conditioner that brings life back to dull and limp hair. It adds up the volume instead of dragging the hair down. Just apply to ends and comb with fingers. Be sure to leave it on for 3 minutes before rinsing. It is formulated without parabens or phthalates.

Love Ouai volumizing products – great bonus for me!

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer ($10.35) It’s a matte bronzer for a healthy, natural-looking tan. It doesn’t leave behind shine or shimmer. Ideal for fair complexions, this certainly warms the tone and can be a finishing powder as well.

You can sweep the finely milled bronzer to your cheekbones, chin, forehead to sculpt and define and to blend smoothly with the brush. Tap lightly the excess powder when you dip the brush to avoid applying too much pigment. Even though it’s a smallish sample it’s got a hefty retail value and isn’t hard to use.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel ($6.68) Packed with chamomile, this clear brow gel helps define brows and condition it for a more glowing natural look. A little of this product goes a long way.

Apply the gel in the direction of hair growth or upward strokes to get that full brow moment.

Living Proof T.B.D. Multi-Tasking Styler ($5.20) It’s a multi-tasking styler that can be used to tame and groom dry or damp hair. You can even polish blowouts, create definition or deconstruct hair. It is free of parabens and phthalates. Apply a small amount to dry hair to tame and groom. For blowouts, apply it to damp hair and comb through and blow-dry using a brush. To deconstruct, you can apply a liberal amount to dry hair and focus on mid-lengths to ends, then scrunch and tousle. It provides a natural-looking glow in no time.

ORIGINS Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay ($8.23) This two-in-one purifying mask offers a solution for oiliness, dullness, and uneven texture. It draws out impurities, exfoliates, and refines the skin’s texture. It is free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. The key ingredients are rose clay, Canadian willowherb, and jojoba beads. To exfoliate, just wet the fingertips and massage the face in circular motions and then rinse well. It is recommended to use twice per week.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick in C211 ($7.33) A long-wearing, bold, and innovative lipstick like this is all we need to have a fierce look all day. Artist Rouge has 25% more pigment than the original Rouge Artist. It does not feather, become patchy or become streaky, it just easy glides on lips smoothly and offer an opaque pigment coverage without drying the lips.

The lipstick is bullet shaped that allows easy application and precision. This color suits me very well as it can be a natural-looking and long-lasting everyday wear. It is free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. You can define and have fuller lips with maximizing its potential with other products. You can use a lip liner for definition and lip gloss for fuller lips.

I got almost $40 worth of products plus a bonus cute pouch (yay for a non-generic pouch!) exclusively from Sephora. The products featured are from top-notch brands, which I always love and expect from this box. Definitely, no fillers this month and all of them are worthy of being in my travel kit. I love the brow gel that comes from Anastasia Cosmetics, along with the bronzer too. The bronzer can be intense but easily blendable. The lipstick from Makeup Forever is in the perfect shade for my complexion and the skin care loot like the purifying mask from Originals and the versatile hair styler with Ouai shampoo and conditioner are very handy. All in all, this month’s curation is a hit! Not my favorite, but supersolid!
