The box is filled with brown squiggles and our goodies!

As opposed to the past months where the info card has the month’s picks for every category, PageHabit is doing someting a little different… All July boxes will be a surprise! No hints, no spoilers, and promises more FUN! (This also means the box is full of past items)

Everything in my July 2018 box! My box includes one (1) newly released book, plus several bookish goods.

PageHabit Bookmark. Getting new book also means getting a new bookmark to go with it!

The other side of the bookmark has some inspiring words for the readers of Anne Fadiman, and a cute colorful art as well.

If you truly love a book, you should sleep with it, write in it, read aloud from it, and fill its pages with muffin crumbs.

Kikkerland Bookmark Magnifier ($8.65) This bookmark magnifier is cool! There are prints that are too small that I find it hard reading them, and this item will surely help! It is an ultra thin and flat magnifier with 3x magnification fresnel lens, and measures only 2.5″ x 5″.

There’s a ribbon at the magnifier’s handle to indicate its place in the book when used as a bookmark.

Feather Pen. This pen is meant to look like a quill, and I actually love the design!

Onward If You Dare Pencil. Another writing instrument I got is this cute pencil that is bent at the other side and shaped as a star. It makes the whole pencil look like a magic wand, and it’s in a metallic blue color too!

Books Socks. It’s a pair of comfy socks to keep my feet warm and toasty while relaxing and reading a good book!

Kikkerland Talking Bubble Sticky Notes ($8.33) These sticky notes are perfect for taking note of various things from the book you’re reading and even for adding annotations. You can stick them to a book’s pages without worrying about damage. Every pad has 50 pages and measures 3.5″ x 1.5″, 2.5″ x 1.75″ and 1.75″ x 1.75″.

Like the past months, a personal letter from the author is also included. In her letter, she introduces her novel to the readers, and how this book will mostly appeal to teens.

There are annotations in some of the pages she believes that we’ll also find interesting.

Undead Girl Gang By Lily Anderson ($14.39)

Meet teenage Wiccan Mila Flores, who truly could not care less what you think about her Doc Martens, her attitude, or her weight because she knows that, no matter what, her BFF Riley is right by her side. So when Riley and Fairmont Academy mean girls June Phelan-Park and Dayton Nesseth die under suspicious circumstances, Mila refuses to believe everyone’s explanation that her BFF was involved in a suicide pact. Instead, armed with a tube of lip gloss and an ancient grimoire, Mila does the unthinkable to uncover the truth: she brings the girls back to life.

Unfortunately, Riley, June, and Dayton have no recollection of their murders. But they do have unfinished business to attend to. Now, with only seven days until the spell wears off and the girls return to their graves, Mila must wrangle the distracted group of undead teens and work fast to discover their murderer…before the killer strikes again.

The back of the book features some commentaries from other well-known personalities, to spark your interest.

The side flap of the book cover introduces us to the heroine of the story, Mila Flores!

One of her annotations also explains where she got the name for Binx.

There are no illustrations to accompany you while reading so your imagination should really run wild.

She even included a note on where she based Cross Creek, and it looks like a fun summer activity in Vacaville!

She even included her elementary school in her story! However, the fictional version is seen in a super negative light that she feels the need to apologize to them.

This doesn’t feel like a Fantasy book, more like a YA. Combined with the box full of past items (fine for newbies, sad for continuing subscribers), we’re a little concerned about the health of this subscription box. For sure they gave a head’s up with that email but it was sad that they didn’t even try to get the genre right.  They haven’t said anything about August yet, so it will be interesting to see if they announce another “best of” box.
