The box is fully insulated using a thick padding with a large ice pack on top to keep everything cool and fresh. It has been hot lately in our neck of the woods, but the ice was still very solid, and the food very cold, when our box arrived.

The meals arrived in their freshest condition possible, fully contained and ready to stick in the fridge until it’s time to heat them up.

Everything in my box!

Featured at the top of the carton is the name and picture of each meal. Each of these is for one person, but the portions were pretty generous.

At the bottom of the container are the meal’s nutrition content and preparation time. Some meals had an option to prepare them in the microwave or with traditional stovetop or oven. Some have a protein to be pan-fried and paired with microwaved vegetables. You don’t have to do much in either case. You may have to remove a sauce packet, but often you just remove the film, heat, stir, and serve.

Korean Style Crispy Beef Bowl with Shredded Carrots, Zucchini and Rice – 3 minutes – Microwave, 15 minutes – Oven, 720 calories per serving

This Korean style dish was very delicious, and it contains almost everything you want for a filling meal: juicy beef, crunchy fresh vegetables, white rice, and a zesty sauce.

The cooking instruction at the back of the carton is very brief, but it doesn’t need to be complicated to get a great result. This one takes only 3 minutes in the microwave or 15 minutes in the oven.

Once heated in oven or microwave (we microwaved), just transfer it to the plate, pour in the sauce, and eat! We thought this was really delicious — it had a restaurant-quality flavor balance in the sauce, and it wasn’t over-sweetened. The flavor was great, the texture was ideal, and it even plated well! Light years beyond frozen dinners and one of the best at-home takes on Korean fare we’ve made.

Teriyaki Chicken Noodles with Green Beans with Haricot Verts – 15 minutes – Pan fry, 3 minutes – Microwave,  690 calories per serving

Unlike the first meal we got, this meal needs the stovetop. You pan-fry the chicken and then microwave the rest.

Yakisoba noodles and teriyaki chicken — having two Asian favorites in one plate just makes me happy! The chicken was so tender, while the noodles were made very tasty by the teriyaki sauce.

Spicy Poblano Chili with Sour Cream and Cheese – 3 minutes – Microwave, 20 minutes – Oven, 590 calories per serving

This meal takes 3 minutes in the microwave or 20 minutes in the oven.

If you love spicy and creamy dishes, then this one is for you. Lots of ground beef blended perfectly with the poblano pepper, producing a spicy beef dish combined with creamy sauce from crushed tomato, sour cream and topped with cheddar cheese. It even had a few kidney beans thrown in to mess with Texas!

Soy Glazed Steak with Wasabi Mash – 15 minutes – Pan fry, 3 minutes – Microwave,  740 calories per serving

This meal also requires pan frying for the protein. The potatoes get heated in the microwave for 3 minutes.

This soy glazed steak looked perfect photos, and it was even more mouthwatering in person. It tasted great with the wasabi flavored mashed potato and spinach.

The sauce is infused with sesame seeds, adding a twist to an already yummy dish. The steak was fresh, tender, and juicy — definitely top of the line!

This month’s set of ready-made meals from GoReadyMade box was truly a delight. All of them were quick and easy to prepare, some needing to be pan-fried, with others needing only a few minutes in the microwave. I love how all the dishes arrived super fresh and ready to serve within minutes. You can also customize your weekly menu, so you can order the dishes you know you’ll like. The ideal subscription box for a busy person like me!
