Doki Doki is a monthly kawaii subscription box from Japan Crate. Every month, you’ll receive super cute Japanese items – accessories, stationery, plushies, and other adorable Japanese goodies.

It’s overflowing with cuteness!

DEAL: Use coupon code HELLO to save $3 on your first box!

The cover art this month is so kawaii and is by Tuna.

The card also has a fun comic strip!

July 2018 theme is SHOOTING STAR.

The info sheet includes photos of the items, plus a brief description of each.

Everything in the July 2018 box!

Wind Chime. The wind chime came in a blue box.

The wind chime is broken even though it has bubble wrap that encloses it and was even used to fill the chime inside.

It looks cute even though it is flimsy.

I reached out to Doki Doki immediately and this is the customer service’s reply.

I’m sorry that your wind chime arrived damaged. Since this item was fragile we’d like to offer a $5 credit off your next renewal. You can also opt for a replacement wind chime but please note that if this replacement arrives damaged we will be unable to issue a credit or send a third replacement.

Kirby Bento Box. This bento box is definitely useful for making creative snacks or meals for children.

The container itself is in yellow, while the lid features some kawaii illustrations. It’s in a different color and design from what was in the info card, but still kawaii!

Sailor Moon Notebook. Sailor Moon is a very popular Japanese anime that started as a manga series. This hard covered notebook features Sailor Moon and is very feminine with its pink color. It also has gold foil prints of celestial bodies, as well as sailor moon’s wand.

The cut-out moon fits Sailor Moon’s face that is printed on the next page along with the other characters of the cartoon. The characters’ names and powers are based on different planets and celestial bodies so the Shooting Star theme of this box fits the bill.

It is durable and can survive the wear and tear because of its big springs and quality paper.

Little Twin Stars Pouch. It’s an easy-grab coin purse with a durable zipper closure. The zipper has a hook clasp keychain that makes it convenient to put keys on or it can also be easily attached to a bag.

I love the combination of cute animals with Kiki & Lala on the back with a quote about the story of the design.

Little Twin Stars Soap Pump. Basically, you can put liquid soap, sanitizers, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, or lotion in this pump bottle. The possibilities are endless. It features the shades of pink with the logo of Little Twin Stars.

Different cartoon characters and little stars are drawn all around the bottle making it very cute and adherent to the Shooting Star theme.

I’m sad that the wind chime did not come in a good condition as I’ve expected it to but there’s no denying that they tried to send it safely as evidenced by the number of bubble wraps inside the box. Maybe the product itself was just made of fragile materials. It’s a plus that they have good customer service. When I reached out to them, they had a polite reply and were super quick on it too. The rest of the items are really kawaii. I’m inspired to make some cool snacks because of the bento box. The Sailor Moon notebook is thick and easy to write on and the Little Twin Stars pump bottle and coin purse can be super handy. I just hope next time they will be more careful in their curation and choose products that are made with durable materials and can withstand shipping.
