CosmoBox is a lifestyle subscription box curated by the editors of Cosmopolitan magazine that brings you full-size quality goodies that compliment and empower your multidimensional lifestyle. You will receive a box filled with the newest trends in beauty, fashion, and lifestyle (valued at over $40).

FYI – this subscription recently increased their price to $29.99 per month + shipping.

The items are wrapped in a shiny bronze paper and are sealed with a CosmoBox sticker logo.

Aside from the wrapping paper, there’s no extra packaging.

Team Cosmo has included a short note for their subscribers.

The card contains a list of all the items included in the box, along with a short description for each.

Everything in the July-August box!

NOTE: Although Cosmobox emailed, there was no notation in the box that CosmoBox had missed their July shipment and that this represents a combined July + August box.

Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan $25 on card, $16 on book, $10.10 for the movie-tie in edition on Amazon.

Crazy Rich Asians is the outrageously funny debut novel about three super-rich, pedigreed Chinese families and the gossip, backbiting, and scheming that occurs when the heir to one of the most massive fortunes in Asia brings home his ABC (American-born Chinese) girlfriend to the wedding of the season.
When Rachel Chu agrees to spend the summer in Singapore with her boyfriend, Nicholas Young, she envisions a humble family home, long drives to explore the island, and quality time with the man she might one day marry. What she doesn’t know is that Nick’s family home happens to look like a palace, that she’ll ride in more private planes than cars, and that with one of Asia’s most eligible bachelors on her arm, Rachel might as well have a target on her back. Initiated into a world of dynastic splendor beyond imagination, Rachel meets Astrid, the It Girl of Singapore society; Eddie, whose family practically lives in the pages of the Hong Kong socialite magazines; and Eleanor, Nick’s formidable mother, a woman who has very strong feelings about who her son should–and should not–marry. Uproarious, addictive, and filled with jaw-dropping opulence, Crazy Rich Asians is an insider’s look at the Asian JetSet; a perfect depiction of the clash between old money and new money; between Overseas Chinese and Mainland Chinese; and a fabulous novel about what it means to be young, in love, and gloriously, crazily rich.

The book came just right in time for the Crazy Rich Asians world premiere!

Written by Kevin Kwan, the story is not just entertaining but also shares relatable lessons about romantic love and family love. It also provides a glimpse of Asian cultures, although mostly about the affluent members of the society.

Cosmopolitan Aviator Sunglasses ($35) While we are imagining our lives to be like Rachel Wu, CosmoBox gave us this pair of eyeglass to make us look fierce and ready to take on the world.

It has a metal frame and plastic lenses. The sunglasses also come with a hard protective case.

I like the fashion-forward white frame with a gold patterned accent.

It feels snug and never comes off loosely when worn.

It is non-polarized with 100% UV protection coating that offers a sexy and sophisticated flair to any ensemble.

The frame has a mosaic look.

Devoted Creations Saltwater Sundays Moisturizer ($11.95) It’s an ultra-nourishing aloe vera based creme daily moisturizer that is infused with sea salt, coconut, and cucumber. It has a replenishing formula that is ideal anytime you need extra skin hydration.

Its key ingredients include soothing and healing peppermint extract, age-defying lotus flower, repairing vitamin C, protecting aloe vera creme gel, pore tightening sea salt and coconut, softening cotton and rice extract and nourishing cucumber extracts.

They also give us a promo card.

The salt-breeze fragrance truly brings a relaxing aroma all day long. It’s also hypoallergenic as it is nut-free, wheat-free, and has a vegan formula.

Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Dry Shampoo $6 on card This dry shampoo absorbs oil and makes you feel fresh from the shower even if you didn’t. The hair will be manageable without making it stiff and without visible residue. It’s also silicone-free and can be used for normal to oily hair. Be sure to shake well before use and spray evenly to the hair.

Avéne Hydrating Sunscreen Balm SPF 50+ ($16) It’s a hydrating sunscreen balm stick that you can put on your lips, ears, and under eyes. Even though it’s a balm, it’s never greasy and will just glide on your skin with ease, delivering your much needed UVA/UVB protection.

The formula is water resistant for 80 minutes. The key ingredients including glycerin, shea butter, spring water, vitamin E and its clear color won’t leave residue or visible trace but it does nourish and protect.

It has an easy-to-twist mechanism that delivers a full layer of balm. It’s a tiny stick, but the retail price on the card was accurate.

I like the variety CosmoBox sent us this month but I wasn’t super wowed by any of the items – but they did nail it with the book. It definitely forms a narrative on what a Cosmo Girl should do to enjoy this summer. The Crazy Rich Asians book is a nice addition to the bunch, as it is a light-read while relaxing under the sun and the hottest movie! I won’t worry too much about the heat because of the sunscreen balm, moisturizer, and dry shampoo. I also have new sunglasses to pull off a fierce beach look.

This box has been recently advertised with a $60+ value. With proper MSRP (the book is inflated by $9), the total for this combined box is $97, but I don’t think subscribers were charged twice:

Hello COSMOBox Subscribers,
We hope you are having a great Summer. Our apologies for the delay with delivery but we’ve been working on a special offering that will consolidate the boxes for July and August.  It will include a few extra valued items and ship out shortly.  No worries, you will NOT be charged again for a box this month as your payments were already processed in July. However, if you have recently cancelled then this will be your last box.

Also, we are adding a few new exciting offerings to our subscription box program and will provide more details in the coming weeks. In the meantime, keep an eye out for a separate email with tracking information once the box is en route.

The COSMOBox Team

I think it was a fun summery box – just wish it had arrived in July! Probably the thing that made it iffy was their messaging – although they were pretty clear about not charging, I had forgotten about that and was a little more focused on the combining of July & August – they should have just noted they had to miss the July box.

If you’re hunting for a similar box with a rock solid shipping schedule, check out SinglesSwag! (Not single? That’s ok because it’s a great box!). Not all subscription companies are really capable of a monthly subscription schedule and a few more, including CosmoBox, should probably consider bimonthly or quarterly shipments.
