Amoda Tea is a premium tea subscription that sends hand-selected teas sourced from small, independent tea companies. There are two choices of box available — the Original Monthly Tea Box and The Low Caff. Both cost $20, have free shipping to Canada/US (no international shipping yet), and you can also add on some extra bonuses like a perfect teaspoon or extra tea bags. They also have a tasty tea guarantee — if you don’t like a tea in your box, they’ll replace it in your next box!

This is a review of the original box.

I love trying new teas and Amoda always sends the most interesting flavors!

Every month, they send a super cute tea postcard!

Here’s the list of this month’s teas! It’s summer and the bottom of the card listed ways to turn this month’s selections into iced tea.

They always send paper filters in case you don’t have an infuser. I use a Teavana Perfecttea Maker but a French press or stainless steel infuser or strainer works well too.

All of my teas!

Amoda does an excellent job of providing all the pertinent information you need to steep your teas. Each packet lists the brand, caffeine level, ingredients, amount of tea to use, water temperature, and steeping time.

Banff Tea Co. Blues On The Bow Black Tea (High Caffeine) I tried this tea first because I love black tea and I love berries and this sounded delicious.

It also looks beautiful! When I think of black tea I usually imagine I will need sugar and milk. This was a lovely ruby red color and was much closer to an herbal infusion. It had lots of juicy berry flavors and a bit of tang. It would be perfect on ice.

Shuswap Tea Infusions Peachy Lime Mojito Rooibos (Caffeine Free) I couldn’t find this brand available for sell currently. Rooibos stands in for tea leaves in this herbal tisane with a fruity twist on an adult drink.

I didn’t think peach and mint would go together but they did! It was fruity and the mint made it refreshing.

Banff Tea Co. Rundle Mountain Green Tea (Low Caffeine) When I opened this up and smelled it I thought it smelled like cherries! Green tea, rose petals, spearmint, and natural flavors are the ingredients.

Another pretty tea! There was no bitterness and it had a fruity, floral flavor. I couldn’t really tell that it had mint.

The Monarch Tea Co. Summer Fling Oolong Tea (Medium Caffeine) I couldn’t find this one for sale which is too bad because it was amazing. It is made of oolong tea, which is somewhere in between green and black tea. It also has papaya, plum, and saffron along with natural flavors.

I steeped it for 4 minutes and was happy to find that it wasn’t bitter at all. I added a touch of sugar but it wasn’t really necessary. The flavor and aroma were heavenly, and it would be yummy on ice. It reminded me of a Watermelon Jolly Rancher.

I love the teas that Amoda sends each month- they always send an amazing variety! They smell good, taste fresh, and are a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. They also send teas appropriate for different times of day, so you can have a black tea in the morning, a lower-level caffeine tea in the afternoon, and an herbal tea in the evening.

Michelle S, that’s a great question! According to Amoda, each packet makes 3-5 cups of tea, so between 12-20 cups. I would go with the smaller number, around 3 cups per pack, steeping only once. Some teas can be steeped more than once, but I compost them after the first steeping and start fresh next time around.

How many cups of tea would those 4 packets make?
