Allure Beauty Box is a monthly beauty subscription service that sends 5 deluxe sized product samples with a value of at least $50 and is curated by the editors of Allure Magazine, who choose and test the products themselves. It’s $15 a month and if you sign up for a year-long subscription you will pay for 10 boxes and get 2 more boxes for free. All new members will receive a $15 mystery gift that will ship separately from the regular box. Refer a friend and if they sign up, you will receive a full-sized Mally Volumizing Mascara!

DEAL: Sign up for the Allure Beauty Box and receive a free bonus gift – currently Lauren B. Beauty nail polish in Sunset Orange or Gel-Like Top Coat – PLUS save $5 off your first month’s box!

Allure is a magazine of course and so they produce a mini-magazine with all the featured items in the box.

The magazine lists each product, the MSRP of the full-sized product, and where you can find more.

The magazine also tells you how you can use the products in the box.

I received a card with an offer for a Breda watch. Prices start at around $70. Not valid on sale items.

Everything in the box! My items were packed in the signature glossy red box and were tucked into white paper squiggles.

Nexxus Keraphix Damage Healing Shampoo ($2.66) and Nexxus Keraphix Damage Healing Conditioner ($2.66) I like that Allure sent the duo so I could really get a feel for how the products work together.

These are repair level 5 for some serious damage control!

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet ($15) is a light-weight moisturizer for sensitive skin (but beware, there is perfume in the ingredients!). It has a light floral fragrance and my skin absorbed it quickly. It has grape juice and shea butter along with glycerin and chamomile extract. I have dry skin and this wasn’t moisturizing enough but might work well for those with combination skin.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask ($3) Hmm, a lip mask for overnight? It’s basically a regular lip balm, and it is even a little shimmery so you could wear it during the day too.

It has shea butter and murumuru seed butter, various berry extracts, and fragrance.

It smells like berries and irritated my lips a bit. You are supposed to apply generously before going to bed, like a mask. Then wipe it off in the morning and go.

Laritzy Cosmetics Light Stix in Halo ($24) Laritzy is a cruelty-free brand from Canada.

The base is mineral oil and there is some mica for a touch of sparkle.

The shade, Halo, is described as pearl gold and you can apply it to your cheeks, nose, brow bone, collarbone, or anywhere you want to shine! It is pretty sheer so no worries about looking like an Oscar. Swatched below.

Eyeko London Liquid Eyeliner In Black ($22) Eyeko shows up pretty often in subscription boxes and my daughters are always happy to have a new liquid eyeliner!

I found it hard to use. It bled as soon as I touched it to my eyelids and I think it’s too wet for me to use properly. My girls have no complaints so it could be operator error!

On top is the highlighter while the eyeliner is below. The highlighter is very sheer and barely shows up, which I kind of like.

I thought Allure sent a good selection of items – maybe they weren’t the most exciting but they were good basics. My favorite item this month was the Laritzy highlighter, and luckily it was a full-sized product! The value for this month’s box was around $69.32, which is well over the promised value of $50+. The highlighter was worth more than the price paid for the subscription, so it was like getting the other stuff for free!

Have you tried Allure Beauty Box yet? What did you think of this month’s box? Let me know in the comments!

I wasn’t wild about this box – but I’m happy to keep the sub with the upcoming September box, which looks fantastic!
