Adobo Whole Roasted Chicken featuring Mexican Adobo. This is rich in flavor but mild on the spice index. This is perfect as a marinade for roasting any meat. Ancho chili peppers and paprika give the nice red color while Mexican oregano and cinnamon create a sweet bold flavor. I love that this can be a one pan meal by roasting the chicken with potatoes and seasonal veggies. I can’t wait to give this recipe a try, heck I might throw it in the crockpot for a cool summer meal.

Chipotle Spice Blend is the star of the show in this Chipotle Pork & Butternut Squash Chili. I love chili and I love butternut squash but I would have never thought to put the two together. Chipotle peppers are actually jalapeno peppers that have been dried and smoked, I learned something new! I can’t wait until the cooler weather to try this chili and the best part I have a reason to buy Mexican beer. Just because the recipe only calls for one bottle doesn’t mean I don’t need a 6 pack. I can’t wait to surprise my husband with this new chili recipe.

Taco Elixir will be a hit no matter what kind of meat you add it to, but our recipe calls for beef. The Perfect Beef Tacos take 30 minutes from start to the table. I made chicken tacos in the crockpot with a splash of water and this spice blend. It made for a great taco salad. I can’t wait to make another batch of tacos, perhaps with ground turkey and avocado.

Mexican Mole in Mole Poblano. Mole refers to a group of Mexican sauces that are made from braising chili peppers, onion, garlic, spices, nuts, seeds, dried fruit and often chocolate. This recipe sounds both delicious and strange, I would ever think to put almond butter in a sauce. This recipe takes a bit longer than most of the others I get from Piquant Post so it will need to be a weekend treat.

Piquant Post brings amazing recipes and small batch spice packets to my door, it’s amazing. The recipes are all 4 steps to make and they are super easy to follow. Like I mentioned before it’s great that the recipes are easy to adapt to my needs, you might even be able to make them vegetarian by adding tofu. I love them because I recently started the whole30 diet and these spice mixes are already done for me without sugar. Even my 13-year-old daughter likes to make these recipes. I can’t wait to see what new treats I can make for my family.

What do you think of this month’s spices?
