This month’s artist is Santiago Paredes from Buenos Aires. He states that being an artist has to do with giving love. His goal is to create an image, take care of it and feed it. I love this way of looking at art and it makes me feel kind of a connection with the artist. His inspiration is ancient cultures and haute couture.

This month’s piece is called, “Black is the New Black.” I love all the colors and how they play so well with one another. This might be the most colorful piece of art I have received in months. I feel like we are seeing this man in his natural habitat and he is delighted to be surrounded by things he loves. It’s almost impossible not to smile when looking at this beautiful piece.

Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don’t.

~Bill Nye

This is a great reminder that you can learn something wonderful from everyone you come into contact with. Just because someone is from a different walk of life doesn’t mean they can’t shine a little light of knowledge on you. Bill Nye (the science guy) has once again taught me a very valuable lesson. It amazes me that these quote cards are so accurate for my life.

On the flip side is a coloring card. It’s so simple, I have a hard time trying to find the right starting point. The comment bubble really makes me happy because I get to figure some clever line to stick in there.

Papirmass brings new artists and their best pieces to my door every month. This month’s piece made me sit back and appreciate our differences. There is beauty in the unknown and I fell like that should be stated more often. Papirmass is a great surprise every month, my family and I enjoy great conversations with these artists and their incredible work. I can’t wait to see what next month brings to my door.
