I love the name and the logo. It’s a great take on the much debated Oxford comma.

The pink and black color combination is soothing and relaxing.

Here’s the first look inside the box. A delightful grapefruit scent wafted from the box upon opening it.

The May theme is “Thrive.” The curator letter, items, descriptions, and prices are listed on the information card.

Here are the items in the May Oxford Momma Box. I can’t wait to take a closer look!

I love unwrapping items. It feels like a gift to me and is fitting for a self-care box for moms.

I needed the Breathe Mama Breathe 5 Minute Mindfulness for Busy Mom by Shonda Moralis ($12.07 Amazon, $14.95)  this month. Our older son was in two car accidents, and our younger son was rushed from the doctor office to the ER to see if he needed emergency surgery. Thankfully no one was hurt in the car accidents, and our younger son did not require surgery. I don’t know if I remember to breathe in May!

Moms can feel as if they are sprinting through life, crashing onto the pillow at day’s end only to start again the next morning. In Breathe, Mama, Breathe, psychotherapist Shonda Moralis outlines the benefits of daily meditation and shows moms how to do it—in just five minutes! Plus, she shares over 60 “mindful breaks” that will help moms tune into their own well-being (along with everyone else’s):

  • Eat a mindful breakfast—with no phone, TV, or newspaper!
  • Cuddle your child and take three deep breaths together.
  • Give yourself a mindful-mommy high five—because moms can use positive reinforcement, too.

Every mom—whether caring for a new baby, an overscheduled grade-schooler, or an angsty teen—can become a mindful mama!

I like this book because it helps me live in the moment. One of the exercises I tried was to be cognizant of my toothbrushing instead of letting my mind jumped around. It is harder than you may think!

The art print/postcard $3.00) and bookmark ($3.00) reminds us that we need to take care of ourselves. I need to remind myself to do that when it feels counterintuitive. I believe other mothers can relate to that feeling.

Send the postcard to another mother who needs this reminder.

The Made in the USA Spinster Sisters Co Orange Blossom Rose Petal Butta’ Bomb (3 oz, $5.50)  is made from fair-trade shea and cocoa butter. The family-own microsoapery uses orange peel oil and rose flower extract to create a romantic, uplifting scent. My skin and body felt relaxed after the bath.

My unmarried “spinster” sister was not amused when I try to give her the Spinster Sister Lip Balm ($4.75). The unscented lip balm left my lips feeling smooth and hydrated. The beeswax helps seal in the moisture which I need.

The Made in the USA Moi Candle Company Grapefruit Soy Candle ($24.00) smells amazing. The hand-poured soy candle is exclusive to the Oxford Momma Box. The grapefruit is a light scent that adds to the atmosphere. The luxurious candle has a burn time of up to 45 hours.

The May Oxford Momma box left me feeling refreshed and relaxed. I loved that natural items were included with the book. The Breathe Momma Breathe book provided easy to implement tips that allowed me to refocus. It’s an excellent box for mothers of all ages who desire to take time for themselves.

My sister kept saying really over and over when I told her. I think she would love to have a Jane Austen themed wedding whenever she finds the one.

What a cute box Anna, and I love the name since I also love the Oxford comma! I’m so sorry to hear about your sons but I am happy to hear that all’s well that ends well. Tell your unmarried sister that when I got married over in England my wedding certificate listed me as a spinster. I was 19 years old 🙂
